VU Meters: Let's See 'Em!!

OK, we are all outgunned by this animation.
That's been hooked up to me, it's the Mrs moan'ometer
with my woman it better go upto 11!
I looked at the simulated VU meters on my DEQ2496...
They go from -32 to -8.
No way anybody here is going to be overly impressed with that.

To hopefully edge this thread back on topic a bit.
A real bad-ass cosmetic design and hopefully a great sounding one too.
They don't get much better looking in modern design.

Yea they look nice but then I fall asleep listening to audio research... Maybe that's what all the research was about, certainly nothing to do with entertaining audio in the home...

I agree about the green, blue would have been better IMO,
But that's a kick ass looking design!
If a power amp doesn't have some kool looking meters it better have some purdy tubes glowing red and blue to set the mood for late night darkened listening.

my 2nd amp owned(Akai amu04 or 6) inc. this funky meter/volume ...
That -proprietary- sliding volume device may have looked nice, but was sticky, and become noisy over time.
and it was a long time ago, a young punk, she was luv at first sight ...
phono options, filters (that subsonic was handy then), cool looking peak meters, even a little "amp-clipping" warning (that red led), plus a host of input outputs.
These two replaced a Yamaha receiver ...
Still wish I had that tuner.

It even included separate pre out / amp in sockets, bridged by a metal bar ...
in case I needed to mate it with this ...
