I have a pair of older Beoplay H6. I also found an apple lightning to 3.5mm dongle. I specifically bought headphones without bluetooth and NC. I had issue with my previous b&o, when relaxing and earcups touching something behind my head it made loud peeping noise. After switched to airpods max… but was using them only on the train and were kinda larg and heavy… wanted something smaller and easIer to use. So I started hunting for NOS H6… was partly successful and got slightly used ones.
1: first tested headphones with supplied cable with remote on my amp, all seemed fine
2: came back after work, dongle was in the mail. Connected headphones to dongle, dongle to iPhone. Something was messed up. Volume control wasn’t working. Poked at the dongle, plugged unplugged. Suddenly volume control worked, but when doing lef right test, always heard left channel even from right side. When both channel were played volume was extremely low and distorted. … after that same channel weirdness appeared also on the amp. The geadphones and cable are quite old. Than took a spare regulard 3.5mm cable. Connected that to the dongle and amp. All was working fine. Also there were slight noises when touching the dongle. With the regular cable all was fine. I tried two more different headphones and iems … all worked fine with dongle. So I conclude cable is maybe broken.
3: when I messed with the in cable volume up and down, will the volume remain at the same level when the cable with the volume control is removed or will it return to maximum? Let’s say I put the volume at 30% with the remote and then unplugged. Is the volume of the headphone set to 30% or just the volume in the cable?
