Hey folks,
I was watching this new video put out by the TAS channel in which editor Tom Martin describes building a new dedicated listening room on his property.
Tom is really excellent when it comes to descriptions and conveying information, and this is an extremely in depth discussion of the “whys” involved in room design and room treatment.
He uses his own room design, including what he feels were some of his own mistakes or what he would do differently, to describe sensible steps for hiring acousticians, all sorts of different possible build choices for a room, orientations of listener and speaker, and what it is, you’re trying to achieve every step of the way.
It could be a very interesting listen for some here. Maybe it will be a case of learning something, and also areas of disagreement (natural for this forum), but the video struck me as excellent.
(not being an expert myself I can’t speak to areas where Tom may be misinformed, but that’s one of the reasons for posting it here)
