Hi people, I'm looking for a very basic setup for our new church building re A/V. All we have are two (or three) inputs (2 mics, one laptop), but I want to spread them over up to 5 outputs, with the ability to control audio levels for each.
My question is, what type of controller can I use for this? Mixers and amplifiers generally don't have that many outputs, and also, I'm obviously quite a noob at all this.

I've drawn a very basic sketch to show the setup and would very much appreciate any help

Even the smallest mixers have aux/effects sends, plus monitor outs. Some even have groups. Go to Sweetwater online, or the like, and read the features - you will find something fitting your needs, for a good price. Cheers

Sounds like what you're looking for is a zone mixer.

Behringer xr18 could be nice if someone all of a sudden says hey can we have a third mic, or connect music instruments. Would probably need a USB audio interface for laptop livestreaming to avoid distortion/level issues.

You need more than a controller to feed passive speakers, e.g., an amplifier for each speaker.

More than you need, but this is what we use.
Well, the previous generation.
Six outputs. We use them for house, livestream, two different stage monitors, a feed back to our little A/V "desk", and still have one to spare. All separately configurable and adjustable.
We have a pair of Crown stereo power amps, one used for stereo and the other used for two separate mono mixes from the feeds above. Livestream per se, of course, needs no power amp. I actually put a Schiit ;) HP amp at the desk to monitor the livestream.

Tonnes ;) of flexibility in a reasonable package. Pick your configuration in terms of input channels.
You'll always want more than you have, eventually.

Have a look at the Zoom Livetrak series:

  • I use a Zoom Livetrak L20 for our local Jazzclub. It has 1 Master and 6 independent mixed Monitor outputs.
  • The L20R has the same features but can be controlled by an IOS app only.
  • The smaller L12 has 4 Monitor outputs.

Hey Raj, care to explain this? Your post/question is identical to a post from a month ago on Reddit from an account that is clearly not you.
