I was wondering if using two WiiM devices would make a difference in sound quality when configuring a 3.0 setup. Currently, I have three Genelec speakers connected to one WiiM Ultra. My plan is to connect the left and right speakers with the current WiiM Ultra, and then buy another WiiM Pro or Pro Plus to configure for the center speaker. Will this arrangement improve my existing setup of three speakers with just one WiiM Ultra?

Where do you intend to get the 3rd channel (center) from? Does your source contain a center channel, or do you have a device, which artificially creates a center channel from existing stereo sources?
Edit: an AVP would be a solution, as I told you in your other thread. Handling 2 Wiims would be a big nuisance as they have different volume (and other) controls.

Strange, would live a breakdown of how this is currently working. Is it for films or music?
How / why do you think adding another Ultra would improve anything ?

The only problem is that @ttman wants a digital (AES3) output, which mainstream AVR manufacturers do not provide.
To get digital output from an AVR I believe there are two options;
- buy an industrial AVR device such as Trinnov - minimum price US$10,000.
- or modify a commercial AVR to tap the I2S outputs, and feed them to multiple AES3 transmitter circuits.
If @ttman has the electronic skills to achieve this latter option, there's a HOWTO on YouTube -
I offer these tips;
In the YouTube video only the main FRONT-LEFT & FRONT-RIGHT signals were tapped off. On a multi-channel DAC chip this is typically taken from the "Data 1" pin.
For the centre & LFE signals these should be from the "Data 2" pin.
Then the signal from Data 1 and Data 2 should be fed to two of these boards -

For 3.0 audio configuration the first AES3 transmitter should be cabled to the left Genelec with "Digital A" DIP switch selected, then daisy-chained to the right Genelec with "Digital B" DIP switch selected.
The second AES3 transmitter should be cabled to the center Genelec with "Digital A" DIP switch selected.
I have seen credible user reports that Wiim network Grouping does not keep the clocking stable enough for in-room sync'ing.
The skew cannot be corrected externally because it is not predictable.
Wired or WiFi both, it's a protocol design issue

As long as the LG TV can decode the source multichannel audio (at least left/right/center, since that's what ttman needs) the Audiopraise VanityPro will convert these separate audio streams from HDMI to AES3 - there are 4x AES3 connectors, thus 8x channels.
Cable the first two AES3 connectors to the Genelecs as I explained in post #16
