If i have a setup of dac to pre to amp and the amp has 12v trigger but the pre does not, am i stuck with either dac to pre (if i use an rme dac with volume control) or using some sort of master/slave power strip for dac to pre to amp?

i prefer not having to wall to each monoblock and pre everyday to start and stop listening. is there an easier way? how well do the master/slave strips work and is it harmful to components to power on and off that way?

i hear leaving components on 24/7 may not be good for them.

I'm using a smart plug and the source (raspberry) runs a script that turns it on or off.
