Using the limited EU version of the Apple dongle on PC

Hello friends, I'm looking for a 3.5mm dongle dak to use on my laptop since the audio chip on the motherboard (ALC887) is cow dung.
Sadly, I can only get the EU version and as you know, it has limitation in power because of EU laws. US/intl is 1Vrms, while the EU is 0.5Vrms iirc.
I'v heard its a struggle for Android users to use but how does it fare on computers?

My headphones are in the mid range category, nothing too fancy really but they sound a lot better on my dying Astell&Kern Kann.
I'm also eyeing JCALLY JM12. I dont want to spend to much because I'm saving up for a Mojo 2 dak and a headphone. Thanks.

Not anymore. Google have fixed a volume bug and now you finally get full volume out of the box. Still limited to 0.5V though.

No issues on PC.

Whether 0.5V is enough for you, depends on your headphones, the content that you listen to, and how loud you like to listen.

I can drive most of my headphones and all of my IEMs just fine with 0.5V but it might be different for you.

My headphones are not powerful and I listen to music in FLAC format on pc. It seems like a big cut Vrms I'm just worried about the quality of the sound.

Quality of the sound is unaffected, as in: if the Apple dongle is loud enough, then you're also listening to your tracks in their full fidelity.

I got it and I'm happy to report that its more than powerful enough for my stuff on PC. The sound is natural and kinda warm.
Its great for my type of music and for the price its beyond perfect but I prefer to use my motherboard sound for content consuming, the vocals are more crisp at the cost of bass
and background.
