Hey fellas,

Quick question, would you use software or hardware to fine tune your system?

I bought a Yamaha WXC-50 the other day and am happy so far but, would you use your preamps tone stack or bypass it and use the one supplied in Spotify, for example?

Hardware here.

I don't use the PC for listening (much).

I do listen to a CD player/transport, TV, Video player, and HDRadio, and use a miniDSP in-line after an S/PDIF switch and before the DAC to make adjustments, rather than route those items to the PC (somehow) and apply correction there.

If I used the PC exclusively as a source, I'd probably correct at the PC, which has more capable hardware than what is in my little box.

It probably has more capable hardware and software.
