Hello.
I have a JDS Labs Atom DAC+ I would like to connect to a PC (Really a Roon ROCK NUC) and I would like to use the TOSLINK on the DAC instead of the USB input. I have a secondary system I would like to use with the USB input.

I want to use the TOSLINK input by using one of these which I already own;

It can work as an optical converter as described in the link
"USB to optical converter. The 3.5mm output is a dual function plug. If you connect a 3.5mm optical cable it will send SPDIF optical signal, up to 96kHz. Can be used to connect your computer to another DAC or device that doesn’t have USB input."

So...
NUC > hifimediy DAC > Optical cable > JDS Labs DAC+

I guess my question is will putting this inline between my source and DAC negatively impact the sound quality any perceivable amount?

Thanks for any help
