Useful Applications for AI

So you’re using a.i. to fix faults with a.i. ?

;)

Any difference between using human checkers to check the work of humans?

Probably not but I’d check your humour settings as they seem to mis-aligned with my post

Not really. Stability Matrix is an application that installs and keeps other applications up to date and runs other applications. ComfyUI does run AI tools but it is just an application.

This is fixing dependency issues where one library gets updated which needs another library updated, etc. Stability Matrix is supposed to handle this kind of stuff automatically but libraries and these applications are being updated so fast and so often that it can't keep up to date on all of the requirements.

Ahh I see, my somewhat rather glib statement ultimately tripped me up and I’m now retrieving my teeth from the pavement

Hi everyone, is there an AI program or something similar that can manipulate images, upscale them to HD (so you can read comments, for example), remove white areas, and fit them into predefined frames? Thanks in advance before I completely lose it.

Not sure what you mean by fitting into pre-defined frames. Maybe go into a little more detail about what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks for your reply. For example, I create a 25x15 rectangle divided in half and insert images into it. I would also like to increase the resolution of some images to make certain text, which is sometimes a little blurry, easier to read.

Your best bet is an online tool like Grok or Gemini.

Since my other (visible) components are now silver, it is a bit of a shame that my trusty Technics SL-PS700 only comes in that classic Technics brown. While silver units from Technics certainly existed when this model was released, the higher-end versions were always brown or champagne-colored. So, I simply asked Gemini to visually update the unit—and I have to say, the result actually makes me a little sad: Why didn't they launch this wonderful device in silver too? By the way, I am constantly amazed at how well AI handles textures; however, the fun quickly hits a wall when it comes to correct proportions. But then again, that wasn't the task here anyway:

I like AI that helps people take more control of their life. +1 to your idea for AI in receivers that filters out advertising. Same idea could be extended to TV streamers, web browsers/PCs, phones, etc.

The WeatherNext model seems to be the best currently available predictor for hurricane forecasting. Compared to the previous state of the art it needs less computing power, lower resolution input data, and has similar accuracy at 3 days to the alternative at 2 days which can significantly improve preparation on the ground. The down side is it's a black box, so while it's providing useful results it isn't improving understanding of what the signs it's spotting in the data that we've missed.

Someone should make an AI that teaches humans what is happening inside AI logic.

In a generic sense, or as in a model that explains its reasoning? Some models have the latter, although they have been known to have faulty explanations for reasons that aren't entirely clear. For the former, unless the model you're trying to explain is instrumented to give you a look inside the black box, another model won't be able to see what's going on any more than people can.

I recently pitched AI as a facilitator for Test Driven Deployment of (IT) Infrastructure, riffing off Test Driven Development (of software). As a result, i've been nominated to become an 'AI Champion' at my workplace
Tell them you want a badge with your name and title.

Here is a prompt I found quite useful:

The responders to the thread https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/useful-applications-for-ai.72252/ have suggested specific circumstances where AI is helpful. Please list them in summary and identify the most popular examples of AI helpfulness.

I'll give you a clue - there honestly aren't many so far. It's all coding, art, super search and small task automation.

That might be because more of the thread was discussing problems with AI then helpful examples of AI use.

I am starting to become allergic to AI. Simply asking "are you sure" will make it admit a mistake 9 out 10 times. Even crazier, saying "AI is stupid" triggers safety with chatgpt. A multi trillion dollar industry? It is all a big fat scam and we are going to pay a big price when it blows up.
