USB Portable DAC *NOT DAC & AMP*

Hi! Because of my car project I need USB A (USB-C is fine too if it would work without issues with adapter for USB A) DAC, NOT DAC&AMP. I couldn't find portable DAC only, so i m listening to your recommendations!

Pretty much any DAC+amp works as just a DAC.

Topping D10s is a good quality USB powered DAC that doesn't have an amp.

Maybe the Apple Dongle. It has a "headphone output" which is generally useable as a line output unless you need more voltage.

(Sometimes in a car stereo, you can get noise from the car's power and a hotter signal can give you a better signal-to-noise ratio.)

You can safely use a headphone dongle + 3.5mm to 2x RCA cable, without giving up sound quality.

So use a phone usb c dongle, the fact it has some extra current capability to drive lower impedance loads, ie headphones, is of no consequence for your intended application.

I can't give it Amplified signal. Because I'm going to connect RPI5 to fabric car amp. I don't think RPI5 - DAC&AMP - CAR AMP - Speakers is good idea

It's not amplified.

A DAC+Headphone Amp, set to DAC signal amplitude (1/2V) and plugged into an external Amp, behaves exactly the same as a pure DAC. There's no difference.
