USB-C splitter experiences?

I've tried a couple on my iPad mini, but all seem to have issues.
I have a microphone arm beside my bed that I mount the mini to. Then I use various IEM's with my JM20 DACs.

This last one randomly disconnects but I almost think that's an apple issue. Sometimes it works for hours on end, other times it will disco a couple times in a minute. However sometimes it just starts showing white noise!

The first I tried was one of the magnet ones and it constantly disconnected.

Even the expensive ones seem to be garbage from the reviews. Had anyone found one that's 100% reliable?

I have this one. I use it to keep an Android charged while also using a thumb drive or "bigger" USB drive. I haven't used it that much but it works.

I don't need it for headphones since the tablet has a headphone jack.

I've also tried it on my Android phone and it worked there too.

I was looking at one of the square style ones, but need dual usb-c.

I figure someone must make one with a proper USB c hub switch chip in it right? But the advertising on most is so garbage... "Great audio with high quality chip!" Like, there is no DAC in there, geniuses!

Can't trust any product descriptions anymore.

I might try this: https://a.co/d/9IP14Dc

Just a point of edification; please don't use Amazon link shorteners or post those long Amazon links from searches. Everything after the ASIN in a link to an Amazon product is used as a tracking tool by Amazon.

Your shortened link:

https://a.co/d/9IP14Dc

Is actually this:

When all that is needed is this:

Everything after the 'B0F9KDKPBR' (the actual ASIN Number) in the link is tracking info.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

Is not a great way to make someone respect you or your comment.

Your paranoia is your problem, not mine.

Thank you for that bit of factoid, @sam_adams,

In this day-and-age, what some call paranoia as a problem is outright disregard and disrespect for privacy... yours, mine, and theirs! ;)

Maybe just take it as a playful humor, tacked onto a post that (very correctly) called out the issue of using Amazon links which contain excessive information for tracking and/or referral linkage.

And since you raise the topic of paranoia, I think you were the one who (very correctly) said "Can't trust any product descriptions anymore."

I use something like this, never had issues

That's not playful though. It's condescending and demanding. And it's fact, you can't trust advertising, never could. That's far different than paranoia.

AND to anyone worried about Amazon tracking... It's far too late to be concerned about that. Use Brave, pi-hole, and cloudflare to filter your entire net experience. Even then, consumers have lost.

Most importantly, the post provided no value.

It probably doesn't work well because active cables are preferred

This thing should work reliably. It's not super cheap, though.

Yeah I saw that before, and the reviews aren't wonderful. Belkin used to sell solid stuff, if a bit overpriced. This seems to be rebranded garbage.

I think he meant to write:

What are the complaints?
On Amazon. And even at that price, it's still not a true hub, not that I need that, but I suspect that's why this kind of product seems so buggy. Doing something USB-C was never meant to do, combining wires from two ports to one, even if just for power.

it's still not a true hub
Well no, it's not. I've seen those complaints... It's like complaining that the dishwasher doesn't prepare the food as well.

If you want a hub, buy a hub!

You seem to be missing the point of my post. Anyone with personal experience with a small USB-C splitter (hub or otherwise) that works reliably with an i device.

Besides the fact that none of these devices do what they say on the tin reliably. Exactly what this website was created to test and prove out. Hence my original question.

If you want something that works reliably, get a powered USB-C or Thunderbolt hub. They are much more expensive, but they (should) work fine.

I have one from Club 3D. It runs fine via my iPhone, and can even output to my display this way, and of course, charge.

Hey, careful with your links, Bezos had a personal interest in you!

Ack-shu-ally, he has an interest in you. Since your search generated that link—and if you did it from a logged in Amazon account—every time someone clicks on it, it tracks back to you.

Perhaps you haven't been keeping up on current events.
