Thread can be closed i bough at cable (danish store)
But why would he buy a special HDMI cable optimized for showing soap-operas?Just to clarify - by 'them' I didn't mean you, i meant snake-oil cable vendors.
More foam.for showing soap-operas
Yes... except one small nit. There is actually no such thing as a USB "for hifi" except in terms of cosmetics / looks, as you noted they make no difference to the sound or anything.
Agree, not all cables are created equal in terms of durability and even sometimes basic functionality... but if we're talking a cable that costs $20+ for 5ft you're probably not in danger of getting one that's improperly constructed.Yes... except one small nit.
You need to be careful w some of the 'cheap' USB cables that you find. I'm talking about some of the cheap cables out of China.
Buy from a reputable dealer/store.
Note: I'm not talking about 'audiophile' types but the basic computer cables.
I agree that you could probably buy a good USB-C to USB-C cable (which is actually a better quality cable since it can handle higher data speeds, then just add the adapters. )
Looks very well made, should work as good as any other cable for long time.I bought this cable from a danish store with very good customer service, not the perfect length but if i upgrade (my amp or use a differenet amp) or don't need it (for my amp), it's a little longer and more versatile for other products that use usb a, also about placement, further away from other cables in my hifi system, 2 meters is a little more versatile than 1.5 meter.
2m USB 3.2 Type A Cable, 5Gbps, Anthra Line
The Anthra Line USB 3.2 Type A to A cables from Lindy's Cable Lines concept are the professional choice for high performance connections in commercial AV and IT installations. Anthra Line USB 3.2 cables are premium connections that feature triple shielded construction with tinned copper...www.lindy.co.uk
OFC is copper...Looks very well made, should work as good as any other cable for long time.
My only regret would be cable made of OFC than tinned copper, we want everything high end after all
How do you think the cable knows what bits are music and what is other data? It's the mental thing when someone has though a little more about the cable made for music (can of course be used for data, productivty vise
versa) than your typical black or white usb cable
I was pointing to tinned copper vs OFC, with sarcasm!OFC is copper...
You just need a cable. I've been happy with the "ugreen" brand on Amazon - inexpensive and seem to be well made.
It doesn't. (The music is data)How do you think the cable knows what bits are music and what is other data?
"Data smearing" is a new term for me (but I have only been in the business for 40 years, so...)Depending on the quality of the cable and connectors... etc ... you can get interference and data smearing.
But usually in a very audible way, not by causing subtle differences in sound quality. You'll still get sound, but it could impact how the DAC interprets the incoming signal.
Sure, And if you want diamond-studded wheels for your Range Rover, just go for it! No one is going to stop you...I mean if you've got the money and want to buy a custom cable that uses silver wires? Go for it.
No one is going to stop you...
