You need to be careful w some of the 'cheap' USB cables that you find. I'm talking about some of the cheap cables out of China.
Buy from a reputable dealer/store.

Note: I'm not talking about 'audiophile' types but the basic computer cables.
I agree that you could probably buy a good USB-C to USB-C cable (which is actually a better quality cable since it can handle higher data speeds, then just add the adapters. )

Agree, not all cables are created equal in terms of durability and even sometimes basic functionality... but if we're talking a cable that costs $20+ for 5ft you're probably not in danger of getting one that's improperly constructed.

I bought this cable from a danish store with very good customer service, not the perfect length but if i upgrade (my amp or use a differenet amp) or don't need it (for my amp), it's a little longer and more versatile for other products that use usb a, also about placement, further away from other cables in my hifi system, 2 meters is a little more versatile than 1.5 meter.

I bought this cable from a danish store with very good customer service, not the perfect length but if i upgrade (my amp or use a differenet amp) or don't need it (for my amp), it's a little longer and more versatile for other products that use usb a, also about placement, further away from other cables in my hifi system, 2 meters is a little more versatile than 1.5 meter.

Looks very well made, should work as good as any other cable for long time.

My only regret would be cable made of OFC than tinned copper, we want everything high end after all

It's the mental thing when someone has though a little more about the cable made for music (can of course be used for data,productivty vise
versa) than your typical black or white usb cable

You just need a cable. I've been happy with the "ugreen" brand on Amazon - inexpensive and seem to be well made.

I've had good luck with Ugreen, Sabrent, CableCreation, but my goto is StarTech.

I usually search their website first, then search amazon when I know the part number I want.

For example I picked up one of these for my D50s since i wanted it in a certain location that was pretty far away from my computer.

It doesn't. (The music is data)
But depending on what you are connecting there's power and data.
Depending on the quality of the cable and connectors... etc ... you can get interference and data smearing.
You'll still get sound, but it could impact how the DAC interprets the incoming signal.

And again, not all cables are equal, and the biggest difference is going to be on the quality of the parts, shielding and how its made.

I mean if you've got the money and want to buy a custom cable that uses silver wires? Go for it.
No one is going to stop you...
But if you buy the cheapest cable you can find... then complain... someone may take a clue by 4 to ya.
