no its not. in HiFI you all have nurtured a culture of no one ever being wrong, you can be a expert just by buying a 50k TT or flying round the world listening to odd ball audiophiles systems. its like the early days of IT, you only have to know how to defrag a hard drive and jo blogs thinks your king. same in HiFi, people get intimidated because their knowledge is non existent, their interest in sound quality is also non existent.
so you have all these babied guys who have never been challenged, who have ego's the size of krell monoblocks throwing money about and thinking they have super listening powers its pure fantasy. (subjectivists)
the reaction to this from the objectivist mind is outrage and ridicule in one flavour or another. but these guys are not whiter that white, normally they are on some kind of crusade. some kind of ill conceived quest for recognition. they seem often to lack the required intellectual challenge in their regular lives and hijack the world of audio in search of this. also in search for a ordered and safe word. the same kind of motivation as the subjectivist. infact most of these guys have little knowledge instead they delude themselves with the notion that all they need is common sense and 'logic'. this would be fine of course except they have total conviction that what they believe is true\fact, in reality its no more informed than the average subjectivist listener based guy.
dealing with these two types of 'limited' ' fanatical' ' fundamentalist' types of objectivists and subjectivists is not something real knowledgeable people want to do, its not challenging anything but their patients. so unless they are helping market a product of theirs you won't find them here.
what makes me laugh is the amount of glorious disfunction on both sides, with each believing they are superior to the other... when in fact they are more alike than either would like to admit. all rather dysfunctional and in need of help imo.
the audiophile world is a true celebration of ignorance and dysfunction. nothing wrong with that, but its a real shame many who are involved leave no room for being wrong.. that's the problem on both sides.
