Looking for reasonably priced external 48V PSUs,

The ones offered with the amps usually only go to 5A

A USA based source would be better if possible with tariffs uncertainty but Ali pricing may make it worth rolling the dice

top priority is "nice and clean" for powering power amps, usually TP3255 based

If Douk A5 or 3e A7 Mono deals are out there including such for little extra cost, I'd give those a try, please link

But I suspect I'd get higher quality paying a bit more buying standalone

TIA

In search of, looking for

a high quality unit

thanks!

there are good amps available in that price range with a PSU included

hoping for less pricey if possible for an PSU standalone

Is that Fosi unit know for being particulary fine?

Fosi Audio also sells on Amazon (USA) a 48 volt, 10A power supply that includes a marking indicating it is listed with Underwriter's Laboratories.

Well ~$80 is around what the V3 Mono goes for on the Ali shop

Is "sold by Fosi" really the top indicator of "value with quality" in this product category?

I don't know if 'sold by Fosi' is an top indicator of quality.

I am unfamiliar with the process for a power supply receiving a listing by Underwriter's Laboratories and how much of a $ premium to assign to one.

my understanding is, mostly for thermal safety issues not "quality" per se. But ofc not burning down the house is important

Agreed.

I am using the variant with the UL listing in the hope 'thermal safety issues' will be less of a risk.

I appreciate the relative cheapness of TPA3255 amplifiers making it easier to afford the U.L. listed power supply unit.

So amazing to me how the PSU is cheaper than even good amps. In Ali bundle deals the 5A version is only $30-35 but 10A ones are priced higher than the UL Listed one on Amazon.

Oh well, "it is what it is"
