Farm Aid is a series of benefit concerts beginning in 1985. This is the 40th year. Some are online at the Farm Aid YouTube.

What is striking me and relevant to ASR is mixing Willie Nelson and a group live. Nelson is 92 and sometimes he is the lead, and sometimes backup. It is very delicate live mixing and audio has to follow the video director calling shots. Very good production team.

Maybe there will be a making-of technical rundown of this year in the trade press. It's a live show and YouTube, so nothing exceptional in dynamic range, and it is an outdoor stage in a stadium using Shure vocal microphones, not a recording studio.

I caught the end of it last night. I think I will watch and listen to it in parallel with silent football on TV today. Seems like a good lineup.

Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) is just such a great artist.
