Urgent help!!! Please help me decide Krell solo 575 vs Classe Omega

You need a digital multimeter for that. Small differences in volume will not seem louder, only like it is sounding better.

Thx. Video gives better understanding.

Nothing. If your current amp is not audibly distorting, nothing will give a better performance. Adding subwoofers, room-correction or acoustic treatment of the listening room is the only thing that would give an improvement.
Thx wanting to add subwoofer. Have always felt it lifts the perceived mids for some reason. Havent measured that. Just subjectively. Thinking of trying something from jtr speakers and not the ultra expensive boutique brands.

You can even see the recessed midrange that MAB talked about in the measurements of the B&W 800 speakers (courtesy of Stereophile).

Since you have had them for many years, I guess you have an emotional attachment to them. But for a better sound, I would rather have a set of Kef R3s or Genelecs together with a pair of subwoofers.

Heat is definitely something i realize will be issue going class a. Is going into a 170sqm around 765 cubic meters space and air conditioned. Was wondering looking only at measurements what would be better amp? For the 800 matrix. Both double and triple down in ohm load if the socket will provide. Re -sale the omegas will hold better value under our audio-fools me thinks :)
I think the rise of class D is gradually undermining the second-hand value of other amplifier types so if you're genuinely concerned about resale value, I'd steer clear of buying an expensive class A.

From the measurements I would expect there to be zero sonic benefit in moving from the Krells to the Classe.

Much better ways of spending the money as noted above. Regardless of what speakers you have there is always something better. Room acoustics can usually be improved too.

So does one of them have a frequency response like this? Otherwise, if they both measure ruler flat, how can they sound differently?

This is an amazing image. Was exactly what I was looking for while trying to EQ the RP-600M II's I am currently demoing. I saved this for future reference.

Curious why there is a need for urgency?
I always trade my stuff dor other preowned. Rarely buy new. Can sell my current krell solo 575 and get into the classe omega omicron tower monoblocks for small price difference. I dont want to go backwards.

Is that really a $150,000 turntable?
Yip. Had a better deal than that price though. Nothing like keeping you in the groove like a floating mechanical pendulum.

Measurements I made of my Krell FPB 350 mcx (monoblocks), at about 5 watts (the highest I could use for measurements) into MartinLogan request speakers, using a DAC2 HGC to create the analog, and also passing through a Krell KCT preamp, measured at the amp output terminals, with non-laboratory grade goddies with which to measure - think jumper clips to an XLR, etc, along with the regular rat's nest of cabling behind the rack.

thinking of letting the boulder 812 go and get a trinnov amethyst to help with room and speaker correction. The big brother altitude did wonders in my other problematic setup. Are the dacs/ room correction units from other manufacturers that play in the same league at better value proposition? I have heard of lyndorf(not sure spelling).

maybe your measurement off. can't think Sonos amp can outperform a fpb350. I'm a newbie but also can't believe that signal to noise ratio rates an amp. connect that Sonos amp to a demanding speaker like my xrt2k and will be muddled. connect the fpb350 and will do at least ok job. throw 2000w rms at it and it shines.

Hi please can some of the members with experience offer their opinion on the measurements between the two. I will be pairing like stated with bowers wilkins 800 matrix.

Honestly I think the question has been answered already.
To repeat, both amp choices offer enough power with low enough distortion and will be driving speakers that are a pretty easy load. They will sound exactly the same

Hi - I'll chime in. As I understand it, you would like someone to model out the expected response and choose one over the other using palpable (objective) criteria as to which is "better". Extrapolating from the data we have, the response to your question is: the two amps will sound very much the same.
So, I join everyone else in recommending you stick with the Krell and think of getting multiple subs (a company called audio kinesis sells a set of 4 along with their amplifier).
Otherwise, the only other possible response is a subjective one -- and you are really the best qualified person to do that... Unfortunately, it's difficult to carry out real life demos...
Here is one experiential story involving Krell & Classe -- take it with more than one grain of salt: back in the day, I had a Krell 50 & someone lent me a Classe Omega (class A) for a couple of weeks to try out. I was powering Apogee Caliper speakers. I invariably preferred listening to the Krell than to the Omega; of course, it may have been a matter of my liking Krell's blue-ish colour better than the cold silvery Omega -- but I remember describing the Omega sound as "dry" (i.e. recessed low mids) & "brittle"... If you look at the chart on the previous page, it correlates perception with frequency response anomalies, to give you an idea of what the descriptive words could mean in real terms. Good luck!

BTW, I love the look of your TT, I remember listening to it years ago at an audio show somewhere (pls excuse the vagueness).
