My current setup
Wiim mini > schiit modius > fosi v3 monoblocks > elac dbr 62
Considering:
Wiim mini >mini dsp 2x4 hd > fosi v3 monoblocks > elacs and svs 3000

This spend will give me ability to try REW (ordering a umik microphone) and gooder bass.
Listen to the Grateful Dead, female vocalists, jazz (cool). Alison Krause… The Chicks.

Is a subwoof a reasonable upgrade to my existing setup? Is there a better pairing than the svs on a similar budget?

And, how many here have an effectively similar setup (fosi v3 > DBR)? Just curious, i do continue to be amazed with the sound (presently Natalie Merchant). But, i am a tinkerer…

I don’t expect SPL like my Max Woofer IMG_0496.jpeg

It should be a massive improvement. You can't get "realistic bass" from a 6-inch "woofer". ;)

I'm pretty sure the SVS subwoofer has a pass-through crossover so you may not need the miniDSP except for optional room correction. The sub also has some DSP built-in and that might be enough.

Sounds reasonable, as @DVDdoug also pointed out. :)

Here is a test of the subwoofer you are considering. If you are curious to see how it performs compared to a number of other subwoofers:

+1, adding a sub and DSP is a "level up" for sure, and if you'd asked for general recommendations on upgrades my advice would be along those lines.

I would also look into the RSL Speedwoofer series of subs much better bargain then svs 3000

Anyone any recommendations for subs in EU, please? Ideally below 600€.
