Hello People,
am Paul from Germany, please excuse my english.
i am just in to reencountering my love for music and seems this is a nice place to gather unbiased infos.
Read a lot here in the last days and have to thank all contributors.

Did had some more expensive system then i am using now in my life, but last years i simply used JBL 305 active Speakers on my Marantz NR1606 AV Receivers preout.
Do use my Setup for TV and Music, focus on quality is for Music, Surround for Movies is not so important.

Mysetup is a 4.1 so far
-Rears, am using some stoneage Wharfedale quite bad sounding NXT Speakers as rears, i do like how they disperse the Sound but will replace with Vifantastisch Wall Speakers.
I can only use on wall mounted speakers as rears.

-Fronts, just recently switched the front JBL 305 to Wharfedale 12.1 and they are quite a bit better to my ear, very nice sounding and better integrated with the Amp.

-Sub, do use a small selfbuild 5l closed Box Sub based on a Tang Band 1138 SMF 5" Woofer with a 100W Aiyima Class D Sub Amp integrated, like it, very controlled response.

Am considering adding some wall or top front speakers based on the DIY Vifantastisch Speakers (quite nice concept, no Baffle Step), if there is a benefit for Music upmixing.

My Sources for Music are only Spotify Youtube Music, Amazon Music (standard Prime Abo), all comming from the Android TV.
For Movies best source is what i can get from the Amazon Prime Membership so no native Atmos stuff for me basically.
Am not overly spoiled but cant say that i am unhappy with it.

After i installed the Diamond 12.1 Speakers and fiddling with audassey a bit i started to like what i does when listening to music for the room correction part and M-Dax on low sounds also good to me.
I hate the audassey dynamic EQ but this on off and curve on flat, no volume compression and it sounds better then pure direct mode to me.
Neural X does a good upmixing on Music, i sometimes like how its using the surround speakers, but would be ok with only room corrected Stereo too.

Am not reaching for the best setup possible but consider to get a new AV receiver or setup my front speakers with a external amp and DAC.

Benefit of a new AV receiver would be, all in one Box which i like.
- If getting a Denon 3800h (1000€ atm) i would get a recent Audassey Version, which i could probably hear a benefit.
i could also upgrade to Dirac later on, while its really expensive.
- the 3800h will be overall better technically then my Marantz 1606 which i might not hear?

Other option to the Denon would be a Sony TA-AN1000 , its getting good reviews for its room correction abilites sadly there is not much info to find here on this unit.

Or ill take another route and Setup some recent Class D Amp with a DAC maybe.
I do have a Khadas VIM 3 unused waiting for a task, i could get the Tone 1 board and make it a DAC.
Could install a EQ on it too to make it a Music Streamer EQ/DAC.
Just not sure how to interface the Khadas from the TV.
Other Problem how to connect 2 Amps to the speakers without needing to switch.
Basically i could simply connect both and keep one amp shut off while the other is working, not sure if that ok.
Overall the EQ DAC, Class D amp solution would be way cheaper and target where i want the quality but would be probably incovenient to use.

Do anybody have experiences he can share with me?
Opinions welcome.
