Thanks all for your insights, it seems like the general consensus is to go with LS60. It's attractive to me as well due to the simplicity.
I used an SPL calculator and it seems like the Wiim can get plenty loud enough at 100W+ into 4-8 ohms, way above my typical listening volume. So what do I stand to gain with getting a hypex/purifi amp if I am not power limited by the Wiim? Is there additional dynamics/damping etc to be had when moving to a higher power amp, or is it just for peace of mind and future proofing?
I'm actually considering this or a Hypex amp. If I get the Ref3, I'll be using it with a Wiim Amp Ultra at first while I figure out the long term plan.A purifi based amp at 1/10 price of the speaker would be more than enough.

So you own both the 4329p and LS60 and you prefer the LS60 more? Luckily for me the color I want (white) is discounted for both models, but I do think the LS60 is overall more attractive. The new LS60 is actually slightly more expensive than the used Ref3 for me, but that's not factoring in source/amp cost etc.Get a 60 if your room is 15x15 … you will save money and get about the same given a sane spl … the difference on spec and results will not be noticeable … you probably reach peak with the 60
I can’t see a passive doing better then an ls60 …. Its often on par even worse sometimes
The 60 is optimised and has everything to switch on and listen …
