So am considering upgrading.

These places sell monitors.... ) I reckon I could stretch $1500 NZD...
loudness is not a priority. Truthfulness is. )

( a pal I know has the Adam Audio T7V ( $ 1329 NZD )and rates them. but he also drinks too much... shrug. )

Making music and things are getting better. Moving up a level...

Making industrial electrrrro rock with strings and choral incidental sounds right now... got a nice loop going.

Wadayareckon ?

Cheers. :- )

Adam T7V are good speakers. So are the Kali LP-6 or LP-8, or JBL 306p or 308p. All good speakers.

Those are the usual options if you want, and can afford, and have room for something larger with more bass response than the 5" options, and you can't afford to get into Neumann or Genelec territory.

Some people complain about tweeter hiss if your ear is up close to the JBL speakers when nothing is playing, but apart from that which you may or may not care about, they're all good, and good value for money.

I installed a set of Kali LP-6's in a control room recently, and have been very happy with them. Haven't had a chance to listen to the other options I've listed here.
