The closest town (has a [1]) traffic light (so I guess that it is a town) is a 40 minute drive if all goes well. The way to my place is a 2 track wagon trail from 100+ years ago after you leave the dirt road. My 2" lifted all wheel drive 2024 Subaru CrossTrek can make it, anything less, probably not.LOL am sure am not enough of a market for what I want. We have somewhat, altho expensive, connectivity these days. Would only take a short move from where I am to get into no reception territory, it surrounds our town for quite a ways.
We have one traffic light! Not much else in the county out our way tho. We have a lot of trails and roads to rip, tho....The closest town (has a [1]) traffic light (so I guess that it is a town) is a 40 minute drive if all goes well. Sounds like it's close to my kind of place. I fish off of my deck & hunt in the woods. We have one traffic light! Not much else in the county out our way tho. We have a lot of trails and roads to rip, tho....
Generally I'm more of the Fuck Harleys, what useless bikes those generally are....such poor performance.Sounds like it's close to my kind of place. I fish off of my deck & hunt in the woods.
No Harley's unless they have been transmuted into scramblers or something along those lines.![]()
I find most of the Harley owners funny: I don't ride in the rain, I don't ride in the snow, If a speck of dirt gets on it, I have an apoplectic fit.Generally I'm more of the Fuck Harleys, what useless bikes those generally are....such poor performance.
To me you strike me as a big bore 2 stroke sort of dood. Like maybe a 250 or a 400'ish. Lots of power in the dirt and incredible torque curve.I find most of the Harley owners funny: I don't ride in the rain, I don't ride in the snow, If a speck of dirt gets on it, I have an apoplectic fit.
These folks drive those type of people nuts. Probably why I like them.
Off road, high torque is nice in my experience (not a bike owner these days & never had a Harley), but, off road & on I was usually on a Honda.
Obviously, road bikes are not something that I had many of (& only due to the deal & resell-ability).
Mostly I object to the poor performance and excessive noise and the idiocy of the group rides....\I find most of the Harley owners funny: I don't ride in the rain, I don't ride in the snow, If a speck of dirt gets on it, I have an apoplectic fit.

I can go along with that.Mostly I object to the poor performance and excessive noise and the idiocy of the group rides....\

It's hard to resist upgrades, no matter the mode of operation. It is a dirt bike rather than street bike to start but often need to make "adjustments" (aka upgrades). I tried to just do the basic Surron lbx but am in the last stages of some much more significant upgrades.....couldn't resist

Thanks, I was not able to think of a good way to get us back on track.
Now we've come full circle... thread drift and now relating the two topics, bwahahaha.

I entirely relate to your pain. also a yearly ritual my GF dictates. My GF enforces this movie. I rarely make the end of it sober but she knows my fav wine.
I have... a few of those, from a ca. 1957 collection released by Capitol Records in the US.My father collected Christmas in [fill in country] albums. This was in the late 50s. Every European country was represented.
This was my favorite:
