After having had sepsis in my left leg calf and then being in an accident that caused me to have #3, 4 & 5 cervical vertebrae fused together, I had to develop a different technic than crawling if I wanted to get things done.

There is no crawling involved in the sub crawl. You put your sub in your listening position, then you go around the room evaluating candidate positions. There is no reason you can't mount your microphone to a wand (or duct tape to a broomstick, which is what I did).

Ahm, I am WELL aware of that.
Sense of HUMOR: as is the term "sub crawl", just messing with the nomenclature.
But, it is true that when messing with things that are close to the ground, that is my method.
Jeeze, people get wound up about things.
Maybe it's a cultural thing.

It seems that crawling is precisely what's used in this method, at least in its original and literal form. The head is placed in the potential location of the subwoofer (usually on the floor), and the subwoofer is placed in the intended listener's head position. A microphone is not used in this method; a subjective auditory assessment of the best sound is made.
