uBACCH now available for Windows

Is this their main channel for support?

Bacchlabs isn’t really responsive! I try to reach out for months since the VST plugin still doen’st work for Audirvana users.
Audirvana is the only one who responses and claims the problem is on the side of Bacchlabs.. They had several times contact about it? But I’m waiting almost for 6months and still can’t use U-Bacch!

There is a thread about this on the Audirvana forum..

My understanding is that uBACCH and BACCH4Mac are two completely separate companies.

Edgar only works with 4Mac.
He has supplied many updates and will probably do more. The first year is included. Thereafter, you can pay $250 a year for continued support and new updates.

BTW, Edgar suggests 96kHz setting on the 4Mac.

Good to know. I was unaware of this.

BTW: I use Bacch4Mac for a while now. Recently I changed from "normal" speakers to huge ribbon bipole speakers with loads of absorption behind this speakers to avoid the backwave. And I use subwoofers.

Result:
A very wide and deep "3D bubble" image, larger than the speakers
Excellent pinpoint
Enhanced Bacch effects

I read that people hear minor differences between left and right (like I did before). To have the Bacch effect in balance at the Right and Left, it is more important than I knew before, to have a perfect symmetrical listening triangle and to sit exactly in the sweetspot.

Do you have Audiophile version with the head tracking?
It really widens the sweet spot and allows for more freedom with speaker placement.

Oh no, way too expensive. I only listen to music when I'm sitting at my listening position. I am fine now.
My system is very optimized for BACCH and I can get 95% of the effect with uBACH except head tracking. ORC is a big upgrade though. I have had bacch4mac for many years and every year purchase ld one level of upgrade vs the update fee now I have the pro version. BACCH is Definitely my favorite audio upgrade ever. If I had unlimited funds I’d buy the BACCH-sp ADIO. The SP seems to be the bougie one to get of you have ever followed the “Audiophile junkie.”

Why does it cost $1,368 CAD?
I think the Bacch boys raised the price to 980 usd for the plugin...or I'm not sure how someone got it for less than 400 usd.

I'll pass...they can keep their plugin to themselves and keep cancelling the crosstalk going on in their heads all day.

USD$980 for a plugin that does only one thing with a limited number of activations is "HELL NO" for me.

I could justify USD$980 for BACCH4Mac Intro. Because that includes a few more options, and more importantly, it provides an upgrade path for BACCH4Mac Audiophile. You also get support directly from Theoretica via video chat for a year.

I bought uBACCH at the introductory price of USD$399. For this money, I received the plugin, 10 activations, and a thank you email. That's it. I did not mind so much because ... well, it's only $399. But for $980 I would expect a heck of a lot more. Like, unlimited activations, right to sell the license, perpetual upgrades.

Now they are just being greedy. I can no longer recommend uBACCH. If you want crosstalk cancellation, get X-Talk Shaper from Home Audio Fidelity for 129 Euro.

I recently started testing both HAF X-Talk Shaper and uBacch. They perform quite differently. Still checking them out ...

Initial impressions:
  • HAF X-Talk Shaper
    • Effect is subtle.
    • Expands the soundstage to further out from speaker boundary, and fill outs the space between MLP and speakers.
  • uBacch
    • Effect is quite obvious.
    • Expands the soundstage all the way from the left shoulder to the right shoulder. Interesting!
First 6 seconds of track "New Rules - Dua Lipa" demonstrates the effect quite clearly.

With MStereoScope, it's easier to see (and correlate the effects we hear).
Toggling between ON and Bypass is a good way to test.

If implemented well, €1000 is negligible compared to what people typically spend on network players, cables, amplifiers, and speakers, considering the value it delivers.

OP bought it for $399...Did Bacchy just get a li'l needy & greedy one fine morning and cranked up the price to $980?

(no hardware even, just a sht li'l plugin for PC)

It was already "implemented well", as you say, for $399, was it not??? What got "implemented well" MORE all of a sudden, one fine morning for the $980 price? Please explain.

Tell me what is so sophisticated in this plugin that made it twice the price of a Playstation 5 console, for example? Or what made this plugin (no hardware) so sophisticated that it cost as much a Yamaha RX-A4a receiver? Thanks.

Relax a bit.. :)

BACCH4Mac Intro was already available for around 1000 euros. Then the windows plugin came with a limited time offer for just under half the price. The Windows plugin does the same as the BACCH4Mac Intro software, but the latter can be expanded with other modules. I first tried the Windows plugin for free and because I liked it I bought the BACCH4Mac Intro.

By well implemented I mean that the effect increases as you have more direct sound and fewer reflections. The better you manage this, the greater the effect. The effect with regular LS was relatively small for me at first, and depended on the music. Nevertheless, I immediately thought it was worth all the money.

Then I applied much more absorption and the effect increased considerably.

Later I bought large dipole ribbon speakers with much more direct sound and less reflections and much more absorption (behind the LS) and the effect of BACCH4Mac Intro increased enormously. So much that for me (and everyone must know for themselves) it is more than worth the money. Especially, as I said, when you see what a network player costs, or what you spend on LS.

With the base Mac mini now meeting all the bacch4mac specs at $550(street price) B4m is an easier choice than ever.
