He founded HeadRoom (which back then made amplifiers) and refined their crossfeed circuit before Innerfidelity.

I enjoyed reading him on Innerfidelity and before that. I'm also thankful he was willing to measure some IEMs for me. Admittedly, on that I'm perhaps even more thankful that the measurements tracked my subjective impressions!

I really like the names "HeadRoom" and "Innerfidelity".

Headroom - a place in a retirement home where old Hippies socialise.

Innerfidelity - what those Hippies strive for.

I don't follow InnerFidelity, but I found this interview interesting and this gentleman amicable.
Bon voyage.

I see the appeal of living in a van from the point of view of seeing the world. My problem is that the equipment for my hobbies alone would take 10 vans to store. :)

If we can be nosy, what are your other hobbies, @amirm? And how do you have time for them with your substantial ASR workload?

Sadly I have had zero time for them. They are:

1. Woodworking. Haven't touched my equipment for 10+ years. Have a new workshop and hope to get it wired up and then get back into it.

2. Photography. I shoot wildlife (among other things) so have a large collection of massive lesnes.

3. Electronics. No space for them as it is but am working on the design of a new control system for our RV so will have to set up my workbench soon.

4. Sightseeing with our RV/sprinter van. With weather becoming excellent, we will be going on 2-3 day trips here and there. This is one hobby that I have kept up with.

Good for you, and I hope you get more time for your other hobbies! The other members and I are extremely grateful for all the time you spend on ASR.

You all are very kind, thank you.

And oh, I forgot boating and fishing! This is what has occupied fair bit of my time as of late. Had ignored the boat for four years so needed a lot of love and attention as boats always do. :)

Agreed. Definitely good names.

This was legitimately one of the logos used for one of the earliest big Headfi meets:

I was friends with the people organizing it and they genuinely did not see the double entendre until it was presented publicly and it was too late to change anything :D

Going to livin full time in home-built RV. Boy, I draw quite a few parallels with him although not the interest in composting toilet! :D

I wouldn't be inclined to sleep right next to a composting toilet. Sometimes it's worth having a flush system, and it's better to locate some functions away from other functions.

Anyone own headroom amps? I bought their portable unit and was amazed at the difference it made in bass and overall fidelity over my laptop output.

I then bought their desktop unit and that was a real disappointment as it brought nothing over the portable version.
I bought the portable with DAC a very long time ago and Etymotic ER4S, the Etymotics got a huge amount of use on flights when I was travelling every week, the amp I hardly used. It had a noisy volume pot from new. Must look for it and try to fix it...
