Two small speakers placed to the side, or one larger speaker?

I can only place a computer speaker to my left, about 60 cm away and 30 cm forward.
Which is better in that position: two Genelec G One monitors placed next to each other (about 5 cm apart), or a single Genelec G Two?

I don’t like heavy bass and I’ll use the monitors mostly for YouTube, music, and movies.
If I go with a single speaker, I plan to mix L/R to mono in EqualizerAPO with:

L = 0.5*L + 0.5*R
R = 0.5*L + 0.5*R

and send only one summed channel out via RCA.
Also — does it make sense to choose a Genelec G Three instead of the G Two? A G Three will look too big in that spot, the distance is small, and the room is untreated.

Any advice?

For that specific application only, a single Genelec G Two would probably be best.

But if you buy a pair of the G Ones, you can use them as a stereo pair elsewhere too. Possibly a more flexible solution.

I probably won’t need them for any other spots, and if I do, I’ll just buy others. I’m mainly interested in this specific case.

Personally I'd go for a single G2 in that case.
