I thought I had stumbled upon a great deal at first. Everyone seemed to be saying REL was a solid choice for a sub, but when I scratched the surface I found that they are actually snake oil salesmen. Still though, is this a good choice? I'm going to be living in an apartment so I'm not building for a HT in a vila. I really like the small size and I don't need to shake the earth, just unload my speakers and gain some more weight. I have the uni-fi UBR62 as fronts and the uni-fi UB52 as surrounds and they are powered by a Denon AVR x2300w.

If you have any other suggestions, I'd be very pleased to hear them. I'm from Sweden so svs seem to be out of the question and XTZs offerings are a bit too big but might work. I'd love to have two subs, but my budget is around €600 so that might not be feasible. I also don't mind going the used sub route.

Thanks!

Get the XTZ 10.17 Edge. Same price, but dramatically more performance. If you are worried about neighbours, you can plug the ports and/or use the PEQ to pull the down the 20-30Hz region.

Thanks, but that's €600 for one sub though. I get two for €500 with the REL.

That's 250 for each, a good price if there is some kind of warranty because these are kind of old, i thinked in the first lecture those was the t9i
i would close the deal but with warranty at least

I honestly don't know about warranty, but I assume there is some as I'm buying them new. It seem strange why they sell it for as little as they do, but they are a reputable web shop so we'll just see. I must say that after reading up in REL I feel an ick towards them

I think you would be crazy to not get that Deal. Rel use high level inputs (loudspeaker cables). so they run the same signal your amplifier sends to the subwoofer. this is supposed to sound more musical (sure that's snake oil) but they are still subwoofers.

I have a Rel Tzero MK3 in a small apartment and I have no issues with it.

Those T9s seems to start rolling off steeply from 30Hz. I just don't see them viable if movies are the main use case.

Yeah, you get two of them but then you just have two inferior subs.

And of course they do wonders to some bookshelf speakers but when you can have a real sub for almost the same price...
