Two channel amplifier recommendation

As long performance of amplifier is better or same as sensitivity of speakers you won't have static noise and otherwise you won't hear difference above 75 dB SINAD. As speakers deep to 3 Ohms it should be one that can handle 2 Ohms reactive loads and with more power so that it doesn't run hot. JBL SDP58 performance is about 94 dB SINAD (100 at best to SNR) and has both balanced/unbalanced outputs. Question is can they be used at the same time as combined (I guess it can)? I wouldn't use different subs in 2.2. How is floor, ceiling situation regarding refractions? That's where your Revels can be impacted so if they are some accustic treatment there is advised.
If JBL SDP58 can use both type of outputs at the same time and combined you can pass with modern class D (H) that dosent inherit noise with frequency increase and does it quit good up to 10 KHz. Or you can go with good old class AB (G) if you wish. Or you can go modern class D (H) twist with old power iron core transformer (for longevity like ATI purify/NC lines). Which ever makes you happy really as well there won't be hear able difrence and remember performance is already limited by JBL SDP58 one and speakers of course.
Revel F328BE do this quite great to a port tuning (30 Hz) exhibiting only little rise of it at 60 Hz (1.5% @ 96 dB SPL near field). So good indeed that most deticated sub's don't do much better. The real reason to go with 2.2 is not how bass can be localised but simeles integration of ELC so that you can have full octave scale while not listening very loud but I don't think you will get there with new processor anyway (old ART 32 had suport for it, maybe not great but it had it) as Dirac doesn't. For best movie experience find largest theatre close to you done to THX standard and go to it for grandiose ones, you can't have that at home and scales in 4x louder/quieter psy range to program base with 24 dB DR.
I heard that JBL DAC is better than what is used in Arcam hence not sure about SNR.
I have few GIK panels at first reflection points and corners, floor is carpeted.
I know it is advisable to mix different brands but unfortunately that is the case. I did good integration using mini dsp 2.4hd and I am quite happy with it after lot of stuggle.
I can find out if both xlr and balanced can be used together or not. Can you tell me how this is going to help?

I do agree adding sub improved overall sound due to good integration with mains. In my current setup Arcam consider it as one sub and I use mini dsp 2*4 hd to time align both subs.

I do agree it is best to watch in good THX certified theaters. But I like to watch my favorite movie again (may be few scenes) and again that is the reason for getting a good HT system.

Thanks
Rlal

I thought you are using JBL as processor and for sub's. Most cheaper great performing modern amplifiers (class D one's) have only balanced inputs and then again most sub's have only unbalanced. Bass is a live thing to how we (psy) perceive it to SPL. That's equal loudness compensation. Doing it properly is another thing (120 Hz crossovers Q 0.71 so that it stays above the knew for ELC in bass region 105 Hz and as 120 Hz is high you need two sub's each doing their own chenel and standing close to belonging main). Glad to hear you did accustic treatment and are happy with results. I won't really even ask how you integrated good two different output sub's to each their own chenel.
Tell you what buy amplifier as you pleas but buy also measurement microphone (UMIK-1), learn to use it and REW and start posting measurements and discussing about it. That will give you something to play with and open new and real possibilities of improving reception of your own system.
Reason I told you can't have true THX experience at home is because it whose never intended for such and has too big DR even for potent home, boutique HiFi speakers to handle (basically neads huge one's and more to pro stage and gig one's). A great complex classic masterpiece will have DR of 15~16 (17 the most) and you won't find music with more than that and that's what home HiFi one's can do again at best.
I have cheap true 2.2. PC software (JRiver as processor) main system in small treated room which I am satisfied with. Calibrated and with ELC ISO 226 2003 integrated. I am also lucky that most of the time I can listen loud tho rarely go loud as I don't need to.
Have fun and enjoy.

I have some room treatment but minimal. Few GIK panels at first reflection points and front corners. I dgot good integration using mini dsp 2.4 HD and I am quite happy with it after lot of struggle. I took a two hour consulting from Deer Creek a company which distribute mini Dsp products in US.

Thank you.

not only speakers, a good center speaker
extremely important for film and movie, especially one with a lot of dialogue
surround will help with immersion but center is a must
Depends somewhat. A third Revel same as L/R would be ideal but does he use a tv, limited to a horizontal center? Is there a matching center for his speakers from Revel? Should he be shopping for a 3ch amp then? :) Does he have a large or small room, does he need to accommodate other listeners/viewers? Phantom center may work well.

@rlal Just what sort of distance from speakers, room dimensions, seating, listening levels are involved?

https://www.revelspeakers.com/center-channel/ some choice if he want to go revel. But plenty of good choices from, for example, KEF.

Maybe these amps for your speakers?

Shop here

30 day return policy with 10% restock fee + shipping back and you can test them in your system.

Or alternatively options from abroad if you want to import from Apollon, boXem, March Audio, Nord.

Not quite on same level as his Revels, tho.
Does not have to be expensive to perform well. But if he has the budget and is willing to pursuit good performance, KEF has several fantastic centers in Reference series. Style matching could be a problem though

My setup is at living room and speakers are 8 feet apart. I am getting good phantom center image. When I move to a dedicated room I will add a center channel.

Revel have a matching center speaker and I will get it later.

I am located in US, I have heard good things about Quad amps but not sure of the availability and tariff impacts.
Thank you very much for your suggestions.
The Benchmark AHB2 uses very similar design principles to the Quad current dumping amps... it is a close cousin... and readily available in the USA

On the other hand, the relative obscurity of Quad in the US, can lead to used bargains!

Revel C426Be
Thanks, I saw that one as somewhat close, but a bit smaller rather than a match. You going to think about a 3ch amp to accommodate in any case?
