I'm starting this thread to see if anyone here owns the Panasonic TV-55Z95BEG 4K Ultra HD OLED TV, as I'm looking for some real-world owner feedback. I've also noticed it's nowhere to be found—it’s practically non-existent online. Is Panasonic still distributing in Italy?

I’m posting this here because this TV is almost a Hi-Fi system in its own right, given its built-in Technics audio section. I don't think any other TV out there comes close to its 170W of power.

On sites like AVSForum and AVForums you'll find owner's threads for the Panasonic Z95B. Also threads regarding Panasonic's recent partnership with Skyworth, which is the reason for Panasonic's temporary withdrawal from all markets.

As far as I know, this TV remains their flagship OLED model for 2026 and will return to EU markets in September. I recently pre-ordered a 65" unit from a Munich-based authorised dealer to replace my ZT60 Plasma and that's what they told me.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know it would be back in stock in September. Anyway, I posted this here on ASR because most people here are passionate not just about Hi-Fi, but about everything related to audio-video and TVs as well. Plus, when it comes to these topics, I almost feel at 'home' here.

Thanks again, and I hope someone who already owns it replies to give some first-hand feedback. By the way, I've heard that Panasonic TVs last a lifetime and are incredibly reliable.

What is a "Technics audio section", exactly?

I don't think any other TV out there comes close to its 170W of power.

The power rating, on its own, is essentially meaningless and amounts to little more than marketing gamesmanship.

That said, soundbars, including the ones built in to monitors/TVs, can be surprisingly adequate these days.

Rtings dot com measured a '2025' 65-inch 'Z95B' OLED TV and found it could get very loud with an incredibly well-balanced sound profile - but could not produce the bass of a good external soundbar or dedicated home theater system.

Funny, because looking at the measured frequency response it's pretty rough. I'm unclear if their methodology is able to isolate the room in the lower frequencies; I suspect not, so the lumpy response below ~200Hz could easily be room modes and/or SBIR and therefore forgivable. However, even well above we see a good deal of variation. I suspect a lot of devices perform a lot worse and therefore, in context, this constitutes "well balanced". Certainly good enough for general usage, in any case.

Definitely bass-deficient, but that's a given with any soundbar form-factor. Particularly one thin enough to be built in to a TV.

Probably not, unless you can pass audio out without the TV's speakers getting disabled. Seems to be difficult or impossible to do with most TVs IME.

To be fair, I had one like that, too. And another one that died way too early (panel replaced under warranty). That's why broad anecdotes are tricky.

My mother's 2014 Panasonic Plasma just went out a month or 2 ago (fixed twice along the way).

That’s why I’m looking for one and hope it comes back in stock soon.
I hope someone here bought it and can share some first-hand experience. I trust reviews up to a point, but I prefer feedback from actual buyers.

Look into the 2026 sony bravia8 or 9 rgb mico . It supposed to have amazing audio . It also came in like 3rd in this year's flat screen shootout.

I had a Panasonic plasma that has lasted 13 years. Gave it away to someone recently and still works great other than a bit lower brightness than it used to have.. With the price of everything now due to AI tax, I am hoping all my stuff lasts at least another 3+ years

... that reviews or anecdotes will not guarantee that you don't fall on the wrong side of failure statistics just like my first Panny DVD player (there was a class action lawsuit over that).

Picture quality and/or audio quality is entirely a different story. But, "last a lifetime" is hyperbole.

Panasonic TV-55Z95BEG 4K Ultra HD OLED TV

After the Sony Trinitrons and Pioneer Kuros, Panasonic Plasmas were the Best-in-Show.

Unfortunately, Panasonic gave-up the business as a panel-technology company, and [sadly] went to bed with LG displays (OLEDs).
All of the fundamental substrate R&D -- tandem stack, blue emitter lifetime, MLA/microlens work -- happens at LG Display and Samsung Display, now.
As with Sony consumer offerings, Panasonic's differentiation is entirely in 'calibration' and video processing. meh!

I am holding out from my "5-year planned" replacement of my current 2021 55" LG GX smart4K OLED.
Only because the imminent changes to the smartTVs, that will be offered in 2027.

Rollout status: Amazon Prime Video became the first streaming service to launch HDR10+ ADVANCED in 2026, delivering enhanced brightness handling and motion smoothing to subscribers on supported Samsung displays, and as of the format's debut it was looking like Samsung TVs would be the only sets supporting it in the near term, with legacy models unlikely to get it via firmware update.

Ironically enough, Panasonic was one of the first 3 members of the consortium that gave us the openSource HDR10 metadata format.
Not MPEG, Not DolbyLabs. Not DolbyVision, Not HDMI (nor 8K consortium). Not SMPTE. Not ITU. Not CTA. Not ATSC. Not Blu-Ray.
