@Nkam what are you using to drive them (DAC+amp)? And what source (CD, streaming)?
Qobuz , through the Ifi Zen Can Sig , with a super capacitor bank , for more current
Thanks

Well, at the very least you can rest assured there is no distortion in the Red:

To me, it's an anime thingy...nothing to be alarmed at or think more ofOne more odd question.
Lol
What’s with the weird cartoon school girls on the boxes of these IEMs??
A bit weird being 55 getting a package like that. What does that have to do with headphones ?
The original Truthear Zero overshot Harman and was far too harsh. The Zero Red undershoot a little and indeed are easier to listen to. Especially after a long time period, which is what really matters. Your ears can handle more for a song or two but after that you'll find what you really prefer and for most people it will be a bit more bass and less treble than you think.First impressions of the RED are good.
Not as resolving as the Kato, but also not as harsh.
These I can say are more ‘ safe’ as an everyday listener.
I don’t get why some of these IEM people don’t like the Harman curve.
It’s more liked by most and it shows here.
I believe that is just perception of frequency response.Still isn’t fast as far as attack and decay. Maybe a touch faster than the Katos

To me it mostly had elevated bass and some "grindy" features in the mids that didnt sound clean. Red is much more balanced and cleaner overall, but muted in some parts of the treble, making drums and guitar somewhat soft. The original Truthear Zero overshot Harman and was far too harsh.
Yeah, the bass was in the wrong place. I fixed it thoughTo me it mostly had elevated bass and some "grindy" features in the mids that didnt sound clean. Red is much more balanced and cleaner overall, but muted in some parts of the treble, making drums and guitar somewhat soft.
Try listening to Simgot EA 500 LM's with a balanced cable and a decent dongle. I guarantee you won't ever think IEM's are incapable of great dynamic swings again.I’m usually not a fan of planars. But I wonder if a pair of planar IEMs will be more of what I want?
Do IEMs struggle more with dynamic range? As opposed to over ear headphones?
I’m definitely hearing less dynamic range
Cheers

I think the original IEM public is more like 20-30 y. o. and like this. Now older men (I am included, 41 y. o.) came later and don't get this.
I'm 49 and long time anime addicted, I'd have no problem with all of them, but honestly i find a bit strange this waifus diffusion in iems world and can fully understand someone finding this weird\annoying.
I already shared the wall of shameYeah , no offense.
I mean I wonder if they would sell more if they didn’t have that?
But maybe that is their fan base as well. Dunno.
Thanks, as I didn’t know what all this stuff is.
