I am new to IEMs and a college student so wanted to get the cheapest but good for value IEMs to listen youtube lectures and music. the music type I hear is Prateek Kuhad, Cigarattes after sex, Lord Huron, girl in red,. and some phonk here and there. which would be the best IEMs for me?

Edit : also some points for build quality of cables and shell case should be allocated.

Welcome to ASR. You would probably want Zero 2 > Zero 1 > Gate, owning all 3 of them.

I have Zero 1, Zero 2, Chu 1, Hola, Gate, and Tangzu Wan'er.

Zero 2 is my favorite, as it has by far the smoothest treble response, which makes tuning it to preference a lot easier:

I prefer EDC Pro because it stays put better in my ear than Zero 2, and the tuning is a nicely executed U-shape.

+1 for 7Hz x Crinacle Salnote Zero 2. I prefer them to my Truthear x Crinacle Zero Reds (or Blues), mainly due to the comfort and price - none of them sound much different to me after EQ.

I should add that i'm on my 2nd pair of Zero 2's. One of my first pair became a little quieter than the other after about 10 months use. I removed and cleaned the filters, but it made no difference. Given the price, I was not too upset about shelling out for a 2nd pair and I really don't see the point of buying anything more expensive.

Yes, it is.

Zero 2 is a bit expensive and does not have a mic though :). is it still worth it.?

If you need a mic get that limits you to Gate mic version. The mic cable is very nice though and the IEM sounds ok. You can upgrade the IEM later if you want and keep the using the nice cable.

With mic option go for Gate if you prefer a flatter profile with forward mids and vocals or KZ EDC Pro for a more U shaped signature with a bit more bass and high treble.

EDC Pro is cheaper, build quality is similar but Gate cable is way better quality, the last point will be fit, both are very light and should be fine but it depends entirely on your ear canals shape so nothing can be said without try.

Personally, I was super disappointed by the Gate's build quality.
