Once one of you guys gets yours hands on one let us know how it goes! Curious about Latency

So my dealer called and left a message that they are working on feature improvements before release. I’ll try to get him on the line and see what he has to say.

Edit: Turns out it’s a delay for Dante implementation upgrade. Not getting here until September.

Apparently it will be 16x16. Instead of 8x8.

I failed to find any pre and post Trinnov calibration using REW or at least outside of their software. How effective it really is especially with small dips?

I really think this will be industry standard. Their status in the mastering/mixing world seems established

It would be nice to rent a system like this and then load the measurements directly into your dsp speakers. Maybe in the future…

I think Trinnov’s quad-mic and algorithms are special.

It would be interesting to see Dirac and Trinnov license their algorithms for use in active speakers, or even Anthem doing that with Arc Genesis.

The mic is interesting it helps level the speakers and perhaps for ‘pro’ audio it can for example almost re-create your ‘home’ studio in a strange venue but for domestic audio I feel a few filters in the minimal phase region/low bass are enough.
I have never missed the Trinnov units we had here, and having the filters in the speakers offers real advantages.

Still waiting. I suppose this will be the icing on the cake.

I hope it can correct the issues caused by my headrest.

Reviving an old thread.
Which other DSP processors compare to the Trinnov Nova or Amethyst?
I tried the mini-DSP and did not like it and I do not mind spending a bit, I am an all analog and want to try to use DSP to iron out the last bumps and peaks that room treatment can't address
TIA

I don’t think there is anything truly automated like NOVA or Amethyst.

There is Dirac with PEQ and crossovers like the Monolith HTP-1 which is your closest bet.

Commercial products like the JBL Intonato or Meyer Sound Galaxy are not as automated but there are a lot of professional boxes that can do fancy DSP.

I knew of 2 different ones, but literally I had a serious concussion and I forgot the names. Both of the other brands did 24/192.
According to Trinnov, I had a lengthy talk with the importer, "
The ADC clock in the Amethyst can run at different rates, depending on what you require. (This feature is a holdover from our studio equipment.) Specifically, the ADCs can run at up to 24/96. In principle, we can run them at 24/192, but we discovered that their performance was not as good as at 24/96. ADCs require a certain amount of "settling time" to ensure accurate sample acquisition, and 192kHz was apparently not quite enough time for optimal results. (This is a good example of "bigger is not always better" in our industry.)"
then he later said that the Nova was affected too.
I can't get my head around how the Nova is affect like this.
On the other hand, the Amethyst is a 10+year old device so I can see 24/192 could be a problem.
