Topping, amongst many other manufacturers, offer components which have both XLR and RCA outputs. The outputs on a Topping Pre90 pre amplifier can be configured as XLR only, RCA only or XLR + RCA. In this latter combined output setting, could one connect a powered sub to the RCA outputs while connecting the XLR outputs to Topping's B200 mono blocks driving two passive speakers?

Yes, and you don't have to create 2 identical threads in 8 minutes. You should delete one of them or ask a moderator to do so.

Appreciate the confirmation. Matrix Audio's Mini i 4 also provides RCA and XLR outputs. However, they do not specifically state that they can be configured in combination (simultaneous XLR and RCA output). Would it be a mistake to assume that they can be used in a same manner as the Topping Pre90?

They probably can, but if you can find the owner's manual it should hold the answers.

Skimpy manual, but it appears they are in tandem so yes you could use both together and the manual doesn't warn against it.

Yes, as long as RCAs and XLRs are independently buffered.

I run exactly this configuration with an A70 Pro. RCA out into a PSB SubSeries 450 and the XLR into the B200s.
