Is the design optimized for low acoustic impedance? In other words, has attention been given to minimizing variability in how the IEMs measure across different ear canal shapes? Additionally, is the design tolerant to leakage? How does the IEM perform when the seal is broken?

Dynamic driver is chosen with these considerations. That's what had been saying for some yesrs. However no special treatment beyond that.

I have been very sensitive to the ear canal resonance around 6.5kHz. So this particular opens multiple possibilities to solve this.

First like mentioned above dynamic drivers have lower impedance on their own compared to BAs so the peak is lower by default. Filters actually don't damp the canal resonance so minimum filtering is used further reduces the relative peaks and allows lower acoustic impedance. Then using circuit filter to tune the response to reduces the peak as well as the targeted region.

Second there are two switches for highs. So you can set both on and have reduced 3-7k. Thus reducing the region of canal peak.

Third many people already know foam tips usually dampens the resonance and variance from the ear canal. But they tend to make the sound darker and lacks extension. Hane by itself has better extension (more linear around 10-14k) to the like of Zero red and some other dynamic driver IEMs. Then the switches allows user to bring back the air region(10khz+) further so the user can enjoy just as much if not more using foam tips. (this is actually the way I'm using)

Interesting iems for sure, waiting for Amir's review, it will be a lot of work if he is going to measure all switches combinations :eek:
Anyway the switches thing is something I personally don't like, too much settings that will end up me thinking more about the settings themselves than enjoying music, just the way I am. Price also, although not high, is beyond my el cheapo way of life, so it's a pass for me.

Same, although the product page made it easy to set it up with provided graphs for highs and lows (not sure if this is the case for other iems with switches). Personally I would most likely go for middle highs and top or middle bass.
 
Ordered them! Impulse buy… trusting John Yang and his experience with IEM development.

@JohnYang1997 : anything you can share on the filters design? Switchable filters (micro-dip switches) are more commonly found on multi-driver IEMs where—I think—it’s easier to implement. So I’m curious about the detail design for a single DD driver.

@JohnYang1997 : ArpegEar is a (relatively new) Topping trademark: any future models following Hane?
