Hello,
Ive been using the Topping Pre90 with EXT module.
Lately, Ive had output issues with channel imbalance with the Right side being about 4dB lower. This has happened after re-setting up and re-cabling the units. I was able to 'resolve' the issue a couple weeks ago by toggling the various output modes (XLR, RCA, Both), but that fix felt random... The issue has come up again and I cannot resolve it, even with a factory rest.
Set Up:
XLR input and EXT input.
XLR output to power amp and RCA output to subwoofers.
Unit purchased in 2023
Isolation:
I believe I have isolated the issue to the XLR input on the Pre90. Moving all inputs to the EXT module provides stable and reliable levels.
Info:
There also seems to be significant output level changed between the various output modes. The issue popes up when cables are switched. I've tested isolating various ins and outs, and cables.
Any thoughts or suggestions for troubleshooting?
I will likely send it to a local repair shop next month but I worry about how much of the unit is chip based.
Thanks
