I have have a wish/idea to make a add-on for Topping Dacs with the PEQ feature to make a add-on (extension) for ROON (rock/nucleus) Linux based to be able to control the PEQ outside Microsoft windows, and I wonder if there would be some other ppl that would be interested in this.. would be nice to have the source code or disassemble it and start a project for this, so if anyone have interest in this please let me know.

I have a D50 iii and compared to my other bigger more costly DACs I find this unit incredibly good.

Your are totally right, roon has its own PEQ. But for me it is a mission to make the topping PEQ work under Linux OS just because i can. It is new ground for me to learn how to program the xu316 from xmos... I guess you are just a consumer that buy things already developed by someone else, i like to hack things and add that little extra that i miss in most consumer products.

Do you know your way around capturing USB traffic for reverse engineering the protocol?

I very much appreciat your input, will look more into it, i am a former old school developer for sun microsystems, many years ago and a few years ago I I find my way back in to an old hobby of mine, Motorola machine language (68xxx) is was a part of the group DHS (dead hackers society) and is now trying enhance my digital audio experience with my old experience in programming.

There are few things that can’t be done given unlimited time and resources, but all in all such an effort is somewhat meaningless apart from learning a couple if things in the process, but then learning for the sake of learning is in a way pointless too.
