Yes. The Plus is only worth considering if you want to drive really punishing, low impedance (<3Ω) speakers.
Aren't you confusing this with the A7 and A7SE?
The PA7 and PA7 Plus are two completely identical devices with different power supplies.
PA7 48V/5A power supply, PA7 Plus 52V/6.5A.

I don't think he is. The higher current is more suitable for low ohm speakers
To me it's a smarter choice, more future proof

Hi folks,
are there any rumors about a successor to the PA7/PA7+?
What are your thoughts?

Heard no rumors, but the latest refresh after E50 II seems to be DX1 II

Sooner or later. My guess:
1 Slightly facelift
2 Might be more reliable
3 1 dB more distortion than PA 7 plus
4 Huge price cut

All are drived by mini 300 vs PA 5 II plus.

I'm thinking the successor will be the Mini 500 because it looks like the 300 replaces the PA5 II

Hi folks,

thanks for your opinions. I hope there will be news soon, as the PA7+ is no longer available. My dream combination would be the Mini500 + E70 II Velvet.

Oh boy, I have the E70 Velvet (and Mini), and secretly want the II. I wonder if they are waiting on a new AKM flagship chip.

Hi, I have a PA5 ii plus but I was thinking of trying a PA7 plus. Is there any difference between them, besides power? Does the dual mono architecture of the PA7 plus amplifier provide better channel separation? Thanks!

There is no meaningful difference between them besides power.

If the PA5II Plus plays loud enough for you w/o audible clipping, then switching to the PA7 would be a complete waste of money.

But many of us love wasting money when it comes to audio :) My PA5ii is working great and I only need half power for my usage. However, I keep thinking about getting something else though I know I won't hear any differences...

Then get a UMIK-1, some room treatment, a sub, or new speakers.

Y'know, things that actually make a difference :)

Of course, I have UMIK-1! It does make a difference but I found some room correction can be very aggressive. Now my adjustments are very moderate and minor. And I do think about new speakers and subs too (but I still love my Sierra LX).

That's in part why I still prefer to do this manually.

Use the Moving Microphone Method, only EQ below 500Hz, and just knock down constructive bass peaks and you can be sure that no algorithm chose some weird/intrusive EQ settings for you.

Here's the one I did last:

Sounds so much better than stock :D
