Topping MX3 replacement

So the USB on my Topping MX3 suddenly stopped working. Everything else, including bluetooth, works perfectly but the USB just refuses to output any sound. Tried on 2 PCs, the green bars on Windows 11 and Windows 10 move when I play songs from Spotify, but I can't hear anything.

Now I'm looking for a replacement since I need USB for Spotify exclusive mode.
I use USB from the PC, Optical from the TV and sometimes bluetooth too.
My current setup is a pair of passive Dali Zensor 3 and an active Magnat 302A subwoofer, so I need a Subwoofer out from the power amplifier. They're placed in a small room and I can't play music too loud since I live in an apartment complex; mostly at 60-70dB but I've never measured, it's about the same loudness as me and my friends when we play tabletop games. As I said before, I use spotify premium with lossless and exclusive mode, and sometimes I also listen to some CDs that I ripped and play with foobar2000, so either 16/44,1 and 16/48.

Either I get the Topping MX3s or something else, like a SMSL AD18.
Any recommendations? My budget is anything below €250-300 vat included (european prices, outside UK)

Would getting a USB to Toslink converter be an option? Should be below 50€ and would work around the USB defect. The SMSL PO100 has been measured here, but there are even cheaper (untested) options out there.

I need toslink for the TV, so that's not an option. If it can split the signal from a single toslink to usb + toslink then it would be ideal.

In that case, you could use an additional Toslink splitter. So USB to Toslink from the PC into the splitter, Toslink directly from the TV into the splitter, Toslink from the splitter to the MX3. Only one of the splitter inputs can be actively sending data at any time, though.

An it would be a bit of an adapter-mania :D

I wonder if it may be a case of "hung" firmware? Maybe there's a way to factory reset or reflash the MX3?
