Did you receive the JYH one? Then you must have bought it recently. I asked some Chinese friends, and one of them mentioned they also got the JYH with their purchase in May. Topping might have stopped using the Kailiyuan power supply.

Yes, bought sometime in June.
Just saying that more people with Kailiyuan adapter will have to come out to say that they have similar problems, for your speculation that the entire Kailiyuan batch has problems to hold water.

I didn't say the entire Kailiyuan batch has problems. This might just be an isolated case, and I happened to get a faulty one by chance. I am indeed waiting for more people to say they received Kailiyuan, but so far, everyone has been getting JYH.

I have 3 of these amps, two are jyh psu and one is different with no real branding I can see. They've all been basically on 24/7 for months. They all work fine, system sounds super clean and basically no hiss with dsp setup. Shockingly quiet setup.

Good to hear your units are performing flawlessly. Man, does this mean there’s a fourth PSU variant floating around out there? Topping is really turning the power supply choice into a lottery.

Amir has mentioned before somewhere, that the audio brands we recognize, are likely just sourcing and rebranding the adapters from OEM/ODM manufacturers because they are products that require international certifications. Similar to any laptop manufacturer with their power bricks.

Convinience mostly, having to flip on stuff beofre using them takes a bit of effort. I've done this for decades now with amplifiers, DSP, computers etc is on 24/7 and it's been working perfectly. Well with one exception (not 100% sure if it's because of 24/7 though), my IRS2092 diy amplifier that got bad caps in the power supply after maybe 10 years.
So yeah, just getting up in the morning, tae up the phone, spin up Spotify, press play and you got music.

Same - convenience. It's in daily use. Now I do turn the volume to 0 at bedtime, but that's it. Of course I want it to have a long lifespan, yet I'll likely have upgraditus in 5 years.

Annoying to turn 4 amps on and off (system has a crown for subs). And mostly because I can afford it, probably costs me like $30 a year to keep them on. A drop in the bucket compared to some appliances we have.

I get that but would suggest that using smart plugs makes switching stuff on and off a breeze now. I do it all via my phone. You could even have them switch on and off to a schedule automatically.
No point in wasting power and money when not in use. Plus you can see what they are putting out, power wise. Which is kinda fun.
Plus you have the added bonus of a longer life for your gear. And there's the whole eco thing.

Yeah, I get that. But I still don't see the point of Topping sourcing from so many different suppliers—it honestly just adds unnecessary after-sales and support costs. Fosi, on the other hand, handles this beautifully. As far as I know, Fosi only uses Fujia and JYH power supplies, both of which are well-known and much more reliable solutions.

Everyone has their own way ot saving money, power and the planet. Mine is to own a bicycle instead of an SUV while other turn of their class D amplifier

I haven't measured it, but I would be shocked if this amp plus its power supply draws more than 3W at idle. (I do mostly remember to turn mine off at night.)

I think that it is more like 7/8W actually.
Much the same as my main MiniPC which is both my music and film server, plus renderer to my main system. .
I opt to switch both off overnight as I see no reason why not to.

Let's stop calling Class D amplifiers "efficient" when they are not.

Tell me, how much power do your class D amplifiers consume, just idling along, doing nothing, or even playing slightly loudly? Measure it and be shocked. Report back here with your results. Class D "efficiency" is utter and complete bullsh#t.

The trigger is rated at 12V but my 5V trigger is working great on the mini300 as I often forget to turn it off in my shop where it is used a lot.
