I am getting the Hifiman Sundara and I have a Scarlett Focusrite 4i4 4th gen (48 mW over 32 ohms) so I will need a dedicated headphone amp to pair with it.

The only question is, should I go with the L30 ii or Atom 2? I've read the reviews but I'm still not sure.. anybody with experience of the two?

Thanks

Yes! ;)

Really, either is more than fine. The L30 II is somewhat more powerful still and more flexible gain-wise, but the Atom Amp 2 is no slouch by any means and has a second input instead of a pre-out.

Got an L30 II on the way :Dthanks

I've not heard the atom amp 2 but I have the l30ii and the sundara, the high gain jst brings the sundara to life, the bass is more powerful, not that the middle gain isn't loud

I can imagine :D I just can't feel the music at my current 48 mW (my Scarlett), and I notice a difference at 180 mW (BTR7), can't wait to try 1W< lol.

I was definitely satisfied! I paired it up with Sonarworks SoundID Reference. In case you didn't know, you can set a flat profile to then make a personal EQ, I can't understate how much it helped.
