TOPPING HS02 coming

And even with HS02 output = 0.9A , the external power source used is galvanically isolated from HS02 output ?
Yes, it's fully isolated.

I noticed a big change in the floor noise in Mac USB>A-s501>E30 (or Atom)>LS50 with the HS01. I can turn the volume up to 90% without hearing any noise out of the speakers. Previously, I had white noise at 30% volume. This is especially noticeable while using headphones and IEMs. The only negative is that it gets fairly warm without using external power. I'd be curious to see if there were audible changes between the HS01and HS02 so hopefully somebody sends one for testing.

I got the HS02 today and connected it to my laptop and sound card X-Fi USB HD .
Got this bouncing graph. (loopback mode)

Did you make any other before-after measurements ?
Seems odd...

Everything is fine without HS02. Just tried on desktop computer, same behavior under REW (windows10,java,asio for all). Almost without jumping under ARTA (windows 10, asio for all).

That looks pretty bad, is it worth returning for another?

I have 2 HS02s and they appear to be working fine and run cooler than the HS01.
The DAC3L (after 2019) does not draw power. I verified. that.

The great Great Scott gave thumbs up to this. 6 euros:

I used either the same device or a similar one using the same chip(bought locally from a reseller at a similar price). It solved my noise problem, BUT it's full speed USB(12mbs), not high speed USB, so you're limited to 96khz. If you want high-res audio it won't work. To be honest I couldn't really tell the difference, maybe because I was glad to be finally rid of the noise, but I'll probably pick up one of the topping isolators eventually just for the peace of mind.

Do you use them in full-duplex (as I do) or just for the DAC ?

I have a feeling that HS01/02 is only for transmission from PC to DAC.
Yeh so if doing a measurement in loopback, this could be the issue

Can you share more details about this loopback arrangement?

And can you do any measurement without loopback?

I have used the HS01 and HS02 only with output connected to a DAC:

Raspberry Pi4 running DietPi and Roon RAAT -> HS01/HS02 -> Benchmark DAC3.

I suspect the Raspberry Pi is not the cleanest source because the HS01/HS02 (subjectively) do change the sound of the DAC3L and DAC3B in my systems.
I cannot prove it but feel strongly that it does.

If it does, there is no way for me to determine which is correct.

I can definitely confirm that PC to DAC transmission is OK, the opposite direction ( ADC to PC) is problematic.
Windows10 64bit, REW 5.20, X-Fi USB HD

Looks like the above statement is device/driver/software dependent. Under linux+rew loopback measurement is fine, no bouncing at all. (souncard was EMU0404 USB)
