I was on 1.06 before. Sometimes it would switch from the optical to coaxial input when I turn it on (no coax cable connected). I'm curious if it's fixed. Happened once in a week or so.

I had using E70 for a little bit it was new enclosure built quality is bad for the price and it makes some annoying noises when working or browsing in silence even three times cheaper audio interfaces has way better build quality. I was very disappointed by quality and send it back to amazon. The value for the money is tremendously bad it also uses that stupid 3pin ac input instead of two pin what probably is the main issue.

I think the built quality of the E70v is excellent and I would expect the E70 to be the same.

For three times less money for example Audient ID4 MKII or Universal Audio Volt 1 has way better build quality.

0db pre mode is absolutely equal to DAC mode according to @JohnYang1997

Their menu 'system' is heinous—there is no other way to describe it. The DAC, on the other hand, sounds incredible.

Hello Jtbee (i have a TOPPING E70 VELVET).

I fully agree with you, even if it is still functional: the presentation in my opinion should be completely revised for something much more 'fun' but above all simple to use rather than 'codes'

For my part, once all the parameters are set in general I don't go back to them and even less change them all the time but still...

.... We can indeed say that the interface is really bad :(

It's a shame because the device is well made with quality components and above all it offers exceptional measurement qualities that we find perfectly listening: continuing to do better in terms of 'SINAD' or other(s) seems to me to be above all a technical challenge because we have long since overcome the 'defects' that we could hear...

... We will now have to try to improve other 'things'

I have had my e70V for about three weeks and I love how this DAC sounds. I had no issue with my Pro-Ject S2 pre box, however, the LED started flickering and goes black at times. I have a pretty revealing system (Luxman 595ASE-ZU omen def speakers) and the e70V seems more dynamic at both ends. Almost "smiley face" eq just a tad. Anyway, the DAC sounds wonderful and I see no reason for anything more expensive.

First post here and had the velvet for about 3 weeks and love the added sounduppgrade it had on my modest setup. All started with me getting the wiim ultra before xmas and it snowballes from there. Got a set of pre used Ikon6 mk2(swapping my old dali 710) , then the ‘external dac rabithold swollowed me, and after some reading I landed on the velvet And this weekend a nicely used rotel 1552 mk2 and some xlr cables arrived. Maybe a noob question, but the voltage setting, what actually does this affect?

On the E70, the voltage setting affects the analog output voltage of the Line outs.

Higher voltage=higher volume->less downstream Amp gain required to arrive at the same sound pressure level.

Tried it in DAC mode and also in preamplifier mode and the DSD filters still don't work, i.e. I don't see them appearing on the Topping E70 Velvet display

DSD are 1 bit and 2822400 Hz

Tried:
DSD64
DSD128
DSD256
DSD512

IN THIS CASE I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT HEARING THE DIFFERENCES IN LISTENING, I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF THIS FUNCTION ON THIS TOPPING WORKS OR NOT? BECAUSE IF IT DOESN'T WORK IT MEANS THAT THE DAC IS DEFECTIVE
Received my E70 v today. The only way I could get DSD to play was by using KORG Audiogate 4.6 player. I own the KORG DAC 10R for recording to DSD and Audiogate will install when KORG DAC USB connection is verified (after 1 time verification Audiogate will run without KORG DAC connected).

The first two files in the song list are DSF files, the others are .wav apparently being upsampled in Audiogate as they are played (at least the E70 display shows DSD 2.8 mhz while all those files play whether DSF or WAV.
