I briefly had an E30 II prior to the E70 Velvet. The E70 Velvet is absolutely better in terms of detail, soundstage and overall sound signature compared to the E30 II. My guess is that it also counts in comparison to the older E30. The E30 II seems to be tuned as an 'overall signature to the warmer and thicker side' compared to the E70V. The E70V is more balanced in terms of bass to mids and highs. with the E30 II i sometimes had to listen and try too hard to hear the finer details (highs), and with the E70V i do not, and so it is more relaxing in terms of 'sit back, relax and listen and enjoy'.Anyone come from an E30 or D10 and find any sound quality differences or the same?
I'm curious too - if I run the E70 with a PA5 II (I have a Bryston B60, but would like to own a Class D as well), can I connect my speakers via bare wire? Is still a balanced setup then? Thanks.
Sounds like a whole lot of mumbo jumbo, I'm sorry.with the E30 II i sometimes had to listen and try too hard to hear the finer details (highs), and with the E70V i do not, and so it is more relaxing in terms of 'sit back, relax and listen and enjoy'.
Also i had the feeling the E30 II had a more 'compact and focussed on the middle' soundstage.
What are you sorry for? And what mumbo jumbo?.....i am not sorry for saying if that is the only thing you have to say in this topic, then what are you doing here if you don't have anything usefull to say or at least with good arguments.Sounds like a whole lot of mumbo jumbo, I'm sorry.
Pretty much all of this;And what mumbo jumbo?
detail, soundstage and overall sound signature
seems to be tuned as an 'overall signature to the warmer and thicker side'
more balanced in terms of bass to mids and highs
had to listen and try too hard to hear the finer details (highs)
so it is more relaxing
These are well measuring DAC's, i.e. transparent to the source, not EQ devices. Have you done any proper level matched comparisons, or is all the above just subjective opinion?more 'compact and focussed on the middle' soundstage
'These are well measuring DAC's, i.e. transparent to the source'.....everything has a sound. Variations and combinations of components can result in a different sound signature of a device.Pretty much all of this;

"Everything has a sound", oh like magic vibration rocks and God forbid, different sounding cables etc?'These are well measuring DAC's, i.e. transparent to the source'.....everything has a sound. Variations and combinations of components can result in a different sound signature of a device.
I don’t see why not. In fact I ordered one and am waiting for it to come in.Hi, it is still a good option to buy this dac for 350 Euro? or something else...
If you need more than two SPDIF inputs, then the RAW-DAC1 might be worth the extra cost.I don't quite understand why pay more for the new RAW-DAC 1 over the DO300EX.
Volume can be controlled with the volume slider on your PC, the Topping remote, or the E70V's volume knob.Can i control the volume with the PC or do i need a pre amp with volume control since the PA has no volume control?
I also want a active subwoofer connected.
PC USB -> E70 Velvet -> XLR -> Power Amplifier -> Speakers
PC USB -> E70 Velvet -> RCA -> Active subwoofer
Adding the subwoofer with RCA on the E70v and the amp with XLR would give no problems?Volume can be controlled with the volume slider on your PC, the Topping remote, or the E70V's volume knob.
Correct, as long as your subwoofer has its own volume knob to match its output to the main speakers.Adding the subwoofer with RCA on the E70v and the amp with XLR would give no problems?
It is the SVS SB-1000pro so that should be ok then.Correct, as long as your subwoofer has its own volume knob to match its output to the main speakers.
