Yes, it's LG 65NANO796NF TV (I am from Russia)
And work perfectly with Rotel and Marantz via OPT (TOSlink). So... It's problem with LG?)
I remember reading somewhere that Topping tightens the connection conditions of S/PDIF(COAX/OPT) in order to improve the sound quality.
As a result, it seems that there is a problem that it cannot be connected to a device that operates according to a loose standard.
This is just a guess from the information I have obtained so far.

I'm persistent, but make sure the LG 65NANO796NF TV's OPT output is set to PCM-2.0 ch.
Make sure dolby and other Surround settings are turned off.

Indeed, the auto stand by is not working as it should do.
Which is VERY annoying. Can not get it to operate correct and consistently with a raspberry streamer. Can not recall having the issue of not correctly waking up with an E30 .

Edit: I get the idea roon behaves better with it and my streamer. Might be that the issue is with current picoreplayer or squeezelite version.

All settings correspond. Moreover, I tried all possible options. The result is the same - clicks and sound interruptions. Today I bought a new cable - no effect.

What is the setting of "Digital sound out" in the photo?

I think he's asking about which option was selected. If there is something like "pcm only" that should be the "right" one.
of course, PCM. but how does the HDMI setup affect the audio output via TOSlink?))

I didn't see the PCM selection below...
This setup is only for HDMI out? In my TV (Samsung) its affects both HDMI and TOSLINK.

Would using E50 as volume control be considered not best practise? Going into a 2x250W Hypex Ncore power amp into tower speakers, I can see 'max volume' situation been recipe for disaster on several fronts. Hard power resets does it default back to line-level for example?

I power off my setup every night. The E50 power on volume on the next day is the latest volume setting (and actually the latest settings for everything). On the first power on, it was -35dB or -30dB if I remember well… never had an issue on that front (two months in).

The S/PDIF signal connected to a DAC device such as the E50 can only operate normally with a pure 2ch stereo signal.
The symptoms that occur with your E50 are those that occur when you connect a signal that contains effects such as Dolby Surround. So I asked you persistently about the LG TV settings. If a pure 2ch stereo signal cannot be set for the OPT output, the OPT output will be made for the AV system, not for audio, and cannot be used for audio. LG Electronics in South Korea may not consider connecting the OPT output to audio equipment. AV amplifiers are built on the premise of connecting such S/PDIF signals.

This is the only material I have found.

@Toku , thank You, my friend! This is the most competent comment on my problem. It looks like you're right. Today I will try this "wonderful" adapter for transfer a signal from optics to coaxial and then to the coaxial input E50.

Unfortunately, using that conversion adapter does not fix the problem.
Unless the S/PDIF signal output from the LG TV can be set to a pure 2ch stereo signal, using that converter will not improve the problem.
This converter only has the function of converting OPT/COAX to each other.

sadly.... but then it will exclude the option with a defective optical input E50))
The product does not have the function you think.
Please tell me the product page of the product if you like.

I investigated the function of this product, but it is only the conversion function to OPT >> COAX, COAX >> OPT.
No changes are made to the signal passing through this device. So connecting this machine doesn't solve the problem at all.
The cause is the S / PDIF signal from the LG TV, so unless you fix this, nothing will be solved.
Try turning off all sound effect settings such as Dolby in the LG TV setting items.
