Topping E50 II DAC is up on the Topping Store

It might not make much sense to you, but believe me, I have seen quite impressive differences in measured (in-room) treble response just because someone was standing in a slightly different spot, or had knocked the mic a few centimeters off...

I asked if you would post your multiple measurements you stated you had done (that would help address those concerns). You declined. Why?

I already responded to that with the fact I was nowhere near the microphone when I was doing mesurements. Microphone was not knocked a few centimeters.

"Help address those concerns?" What do you think this is?

If you don't want to trust measurements, fine, your decision.

At least I fixed my problem, once I stopped using XLR on FOSI V3 Mono and started using its RCA, the sound became "normal" and I could actually enjoy the music.

If you say so. How many times did you measure?

I want to trust measurements, but they have to be properly controlled and verified.

Several of you pointed at *room* which made no sense. You said "you cannot measure same thing twice and get same response" which also didn't make much sense.

Use RCA inputs with FOSI -> one frequency response. Use XLR inputs with FOSI -> different frequency response. Everything else, unchanged, speakers included.

It could be the Fosi, and not necessarily the E50 II. The measurements show that it's load-dependent (IMO, even though amir says it's not, the graphs kind of show that it is a little):

No one said it was E50 II. :) It most likely is Fosi, measurements show it.

Tbh, I wouldn't respond either. I know it's normal for ASR, but on any other forum, it's the equivalent of a troll post.

If I post on a computer forum that I'm getting error 5003, and someone says to post a screenshot or log file, that's fine. If after I post the screenshot/log file, someone says to post a video of my monitor with my phone holding up today's newspaper to prove I really got the error, then I'm not going to do it.....

Because unlike the other forums you refer to probably don't have "Science" in their name.

A better comparison would be "My screen is hard to read - here is a measure of the brightness of the screen". Yes, the screen brightness might be too low, but it could also be that the sunlight from your window is too bright - or you forgot to wear your reading glasses.

Picked up an e50 ii on Amazon. Nice unit with deep base, but sounds a little muffled compared to my other (ESS) smsl DAC.

Annoying how quickly the power down would time the unit off. Did not seem to be able to ajust using the topping app.

The main issue I had was pairing with the wiim pro, via coax or toslink. Maybe it's a data mismatch, but I got constant static over both digital inputs, with a flickering input light for both. (USB in from my CD transport was OK.) Tried syncing signal settings between wiim and e70, adjusting power cabling, etc, no improvement.

Wiim pro works just fine with my smsl dax from both coax and optical so its not the streamer.

Too many issues/compatibility. Will use Amazon's free boxing to returned via whole foods.
