Topping E50 II DAC is up on the Topping Store

Personally, I find it "childish" to have the audacity to think you can do better than TOPPING

However, if you are convinced you can, then build some DACs and put them up for sale—don't worry, Amirm will review them... ;)

I have both the Topping e50 and the Topping e50 ii. I didn't notice any big differences between them, maybe the new one have a little more "bright" sound. Anyway, something went wrong with the new version. It was making terrible popping and noises until the firmware upgrade I did the day before yesterday. Now it works very well. I hope it keeps it that way...

It's crazy that e50ii has so many things with such a low price tag (I can live with the lack of 12v trigger, which is the only downside I can nitpick). Have anyone tried the vrm output adjustment (max at 11.3vrm; it's crazy). Does it really work well without any noise issues?

The E50ii is great, very versatile.

I've tried the high voltage output option into the A900 (balanced) and the Gigas1 (single ended), and in both situations it works as expected. Not necessary, of course, but situations do come up where, for whatever reason, I could just do with more voltage. Maybe the digital input is extra quiet, or the downstream devices have limited gain. You have to be wary of clipping, but I'd rather have the option, than not.

It also makes the preamp mode more useful. Maybe the downstream clips with 11volts but is fine at 8volts. The preamp mode is good for that as well.

I just updated from 1.48 to the latest version of the firmware and it looks like they removed the auto display off setting??? Why? I only have the option to use L-1, L-2, or L-3, L-A has magically disappeared...

Unfortunately, even after installing version 1.51, the dac only worked properly for two days, after which it started to make all kinds of horrible and very loud pops and distortions again, until nothing could be heard. I don't know what the cause is, I think it's a hardware problem after all (maybe the no name opamps). I've already contacted Shenzenaudio who told me to return the product to China for checks. I'm very disappointed because while it worked, it sounded very good, but, unfortunately, the product has become unusable.

No, it is not removed, but you can set the timer now, from Topping Home WEB. This is the only way, if I am not wrong, for flashing also the latest firmware.
I could not find a link to manually download the latest v1.56 firmware.
I think it also be made from remote, but I don't know how. You can customize the remote buttons from the Home WEB as well.

So they did remove it... And now you are forced use the topping app. Great.

Hi, could someone tell me if the PEQ works only with the USB input or also with the optical input?

Hello I_Val.

Use the 'TOPPING HOME' app on your smartphone; it will communicate with the DAC via Bluetooth to adjust the settings.
However, you will need to use the 'POWER' USB port on the back of the DAC to power it.

Updated to 1.6 last night, no sound on both bluetooth and USB inputs

It was fine, but they had to force us to use their dumb webapp. Now it's f'ed, thanks Topping!

OK, correction. It only works plugged into my PC via USB. Not on my Android phone via USB, or my Android phone via Bluetooth, or even my PC via Bluetooth.

Great. Let's see how long it takes Topping to fix this, and what else will go wrong.

Was able to install 1.60 through web app on Win11 PC. Firefox didn't work and that is my main browser. Edge did work fine. Actually, the web interface for the DAC isn't too shabby at all. But I use this DAC in a setup not attached to a PC and it's been fantastic so far.
