Thanks for the response! yeah it's up all the way (to 0.00). I've even tried turning the volume down and back up again to no avail.

If it worked OK with the active speakers (maybe retest it with those if you still have them) then I'd say it's probably something wrong with the input/preamp section of the Denon AVR, maybe try different inputs on it? or maybe try a different source (cd player?) on the input you're using?

So after messing around with it for what felt like an eternity, it turns out it was Tidal's "exclusive mode" that just made the output to the DAC extremely quiet for some reason. Doesn't seem like a particularly useful feature but what do I know.

I have been using the Topping E30 to listen to music streaming on Spotify/Tidal via cellphone or laptop. And I currently want to start buying CD of my favorite bands. I know the E30 has spdif receiver cirrus logic problems so there is no way I can buy a CD player to pair with the E30 via spdif. So how can I listen to the CD I purchased through the E30? Should I play it on my laptop via USB? or is there a CD player that has a USB port to connect to the E30?

My Sony D-465 portable cd player works fine via optical out with my E30.

Still rocking my E30 L30 stack. Not sure why I would need anything else.

Thanks. But I think that confirms the A-O/A-C toggle doesn't address the issue either of us posted. We want the E30 to be awake and active when powered on if there is a USB device connected. Or, for it to at least automatically become active when there is audio being sent over the USB after powering on ...

The E30 (on standby) wakes up and works when any of my sources starts to operate (CDP, Smartphone, SAT-Receiver).
Maybe this helps ...

That happens after a power cycle for the E30? And is your E30 powered off of the USB connector or separate power supply?

The E30 gets its power from a separate USB-Charger (5V1A).
Once again, I have not to press the ON/OFF-button.

The E30 standby function works when an external 5V power supply is being supplied and the power is ON. If power is being supplied from the PC's USB, turn off the USB selective suspend setting in the power saving settings so that the 5V USB supply does not stop even when the PC is shut down.

But that person responded to my comment about an E30 returning back to either Standby or On state after a power cycle without having to manually press a button on the front.

I don't believe they are correct. But giving them the benefit of the doubt, I've asked them to confirm that was really what they were saying.

I have a dedicated, transistor controlled power supply with digital volts display, 5,26 usually, l don't get power from usb and l don't use E30 from a pc. It's mainly used as an external Dac to a Wiim music streamer. I will check what you said. I basically switch off the power supply every time. Thanks for your kind response.

The video files are no longer viewable. But my aspect of earlier discussion was waking up after a power cycle without having to touch any buttons.

For example, if you shut off the power strip at night before, turn the strip back on, and then start playing music. Or, the power flickers and power to the E30 is momentarily lost, but then then music that had been playing from the laptop is once again playing as soon as the the E30 is once again powered. If that is what your videos show, I would be extremely interested in seeing them.
