TOPPING DX9!

Well, in this case, it remains to check the sockets with a test device and find the source of the problem (including making sure that there is no "earth loop", including a digital signal source - there was a topic about this on this site quite recently). The source of the problem may also be absolutely any electrical appliance in the house (as well as sockets, cords and extension cords) connected to the same power grid - here I recommend turning everything off to the maximum, and if it fixes the problem, gradually turn everything back on.

If I have speakers via XLR, which dx9 output should I connect them to? Pre or line?
I would be grateful for your help.

If there are no other reasons against it, I would connect the speakers via PRE and control the volume via the DX9.
The DX9 has a safe, good and channel-based relay-based volume control.

Where will you be doing volume control ?
On dx9.

Someone posted that they both have volume control, so I was confused. =D

Whole setup will be:
PC -> USB -> DX9 -> XLR ADAM A7V and IEMs \ Headphones via balanced \ unbalanced PO outputs.

Ok, thank you both =)

One question, let's see if I am able to get it right in English. The DX9 volume control is analog every six steps and digital on the smaller steps. If you have noticed, every six steps the control makes an audible analog click. That is, it clicks at -23.5 dB or -17.5 dB. What would be the exact position for the analog volume control? At -24 dB or -23.5 dB which is where the click occurs? Thanks in advance.

Hm. So i've got it.
Everything working good.
But for some reason I only can set 32bit 384kHz, not above, not 768kHz. I wonder why.

I tried reinstalling the driver =)

Both, depending on rotation direction, on volume up or down.

On volume up on 1.0, for example clicks from 47.5dB to 48.0dB
On volume down on 0.5, for example clicks from 48dB to 47.5dB

Yes, it is, but it disorients me a bit. I wish there was a fixed point. Thank you very much for your answer.

I'm stupid.
For some reason I thought that after installing the driver it will be possible to select 768khz in Windows.
I forgot that it can be selected in ASIO in the player. Everything is OK there, it works.

Sorry.

I get the same as you in the sound panel properties, but however I can play in JRiver at 768 KHz by choosing the sound output of the Topping ASIO driver. Maybe there is a limitation in Windows. I use Windows for audio PC, but it's not my main operating system so I don't know it very well.

Yes, it's always been 384khz 32bit in Windows and no higher.
I just somehow had the confidence that after installing the topping driver, I could choose that. Was wrong, forgot =)

Yeah, same in AIMp and any other with asio =)

However, you will also be able to use the WASAPI output at 768 KHz, not only the ASIO.

How I use mine is I have my Audioengine HD6's on the RCA (line out,) and my Susvara on the XLR Headphone jack. Strangely enough the Susvara and HD6's sound very close to one another despite one being headphones and the other being speakers in terms of tonality on this specific setup.

How are you finding sound quality?
I have had mine a few days, I compared it to my adi 2 dac fs.
Dx9 definitely better to my ears.
Can’t stop looking at it gorgeous to look at.

The fidelity is great. Everything comes across detailed with quite a wide sound stage. I use the super slow roll off filter on mine. It won’t be as clear as other filters but, people call it a NOS mode for a reason.

I have had an RME ADI-2 DAC for over two years and the improvement in headphone listening over the DX9 is outrageous. As a DAC there may be doubts and preferences, but as a headphone amplifier the RME simply doesn't have the quality or power of the DX9. The differences are abysmal.
