It allows for a lot of tweaking like PEQ profiles, crossfeed, loudness for low level listening, ...
If you don't want any of that buying an ADI-2 makes little sense.

I reckoned that will be it, I would certainly welcome with a warm hug any de-DSPified version of ADI-2 DAC, but then, it would most likely go out of RME's way.

I meant it more like a cheaper version without all the "features".

And here I am in the market for a new DAC to find out this will be hitting the market very very shortly. Maybe I should wait and see what this looks like in review and price.

For sure, I would love to see Amir to look at Aune S6 Pro as well, but from what I recall he mentioned he should get S6, but an older non-"Pro" version.

I think Amir owns the S6 but it is not a priority to measure, he said it was not too good in a preliminary test. Perhaps the Pro with AK4497 is better..

I see and in the same time I am sorry to hear that. In such case eventually he gets S6 Pro and that it turns out to be better and that it doesn't turn out to be just a looker (which it is, it is pretty imo).
