that's a thought too. Nonetheless at least the DX5 II is past the infancy issues (in both hardware and software sense of things).
oh and also forgot to add: It didn't wipe the EQ presets this time!

Is there a replacement remote for this unit?
Cant seem to find any RC-18A to buy , or an Android app(IR blaster) that could control this unit.

I'm laughing in FW v2.10 - If it ain't broke, don't fix it. But go ahead, keep updating that firmware!
Mine came with 2.10 and the crossfeed didn't work, like seemingly couldn't be turned on at all. Bumped it up to 2.27 this weekend and it still doesn't work. Maybe this one will do the trick...

Crossfeed only works on 48kHz sample rates or lower.

Yes, display bug fixed, confirmed

The other reason to keep updating is since they basically add to every fix:
V2.31 (July 2, 2026)
*Fixed: The app may occasionally fail to connect to the phone.
*Fixed: Several known issues.

At this point my number one recommended DAC

can confirm that the auto brightness bug is no more. They fixed it. Now I wonder whether there are other silly issues with this fw

Oh probably :p

I wish they would indicate what those issues are.

There's actually a few major bugs in v2.10 that were fixed in the latest FWs, so...

There's no reason for it to not work. What platform are you using? Mac? PC?

Source is Wiim Pro Plus to DX5ii via coax. Doesn't work with Bluetooth either though. FW came from Windows and uploaded fine, so I assume that isn't an issue.

And what is the sample rate outputting from the WiiM Pro Plus? Because the only thing that would prevent it from working is if the sample rate is too high. I know you mentioned 24kH and 44.1kHz, but something on the WiiM Pro Plus might be preventing it from working.

Have you tried connecting the DX5 II to a laptop/computer to see if crossfeed works in a different configuration?

What is your Bluetooth source? For example my Nvidia Shield connects over LDAC at 96kHz by default. I had to go into developer mode and change the sample rate every time I connected.

I got fed up and switched to a long active USB cable.

FW v2.27 added functionality - Support for Topping Home app.
Its not like there was no reason to update.
Tuh-tuh...Topping HOME app?!?!?!......... - "Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me" - Pray for me, Brothers...

(Proceeds to update Firmware to v2.31)

I've lowered the Wiim to as low as 24 kHz and it hasn't mattered. What's weird is I feel like it was working the first time I ever cycled through the options and now isn't, could definitely be wrong though. I'll give my laptop a shot at some point and see if that makes a difference, just need to find a USB B cable.

With respect to BT, that's a great point. It was showing the same 44.1kHz but I'll check and see what the phone says it was sending. It's currently locked on auto.

I just checked the specifications. The DX5 will decode 16, 24 and 32 bit depth, but is only specified for 44.1kHz sample rate on the low end 192kHz over coax or optical at the top It’s not spec’d 24kHz sample rate but I can’t test that with my setup.

Are you mixing up bit depth and sample rate?

I may have, but any way of it the Wiim is outputting the proper sample rate/bit depth and the DX5 seems to be seeing it.

At this point it's just more of an mildly interesting mystery. Sounds fantastic without the crossfeed, but I would play with it if it worked.

Has anybody experienced the issue of firmware 2.31 causing the SE unbalanced headphone output to be 15dB quieter?
I had my the SE headphone output on firmware 2.11 set to -21, and now I have to have it set to -6 to get the same volume output on the same headphones with the same audio set to the same digital volume level…

Did flashing the firmware enable the HRTF crossfeed?
